Kevin O’Conner from The Ringer just posted his first big board for the draft. Has Ayo ranked 15 and has a very detailed scouted report too. As of now the big board only goes to 15, so no Kofi.

The Ringer recently released their NBA draft Big Board and have Ayo at #15. I think Kevin O'Connor is right up there with the guys at ESPN in ranking players and doesn't fall into groupthink either (like a lot of other "consensus mock draft" sites). Great to see Ayo high on his board. Check it out here: https://nbadraft.theringer.com

Haha JB...great minds

Two Tennessee Guards ahead of him and Cade Cunningham. The top half of the Midwest Bracket is loaded with top tier guards!

Cunningham may be a more successful pro but would trade Ayo for him. Don’t understand fear of him in matchup.

I can understand the fear. Think Duane Washington but 5 inches taller and even more talented. He's a heck of a player. But I'll take our team over their singular superstar all day.
Stats:
Ayo 20.7 pts. .488 %. 6.3 rbs 5.3 assts 3.3 tos
Cunningham 20.2 pts .454 % 6.3 rbs 3.6 assts 4.2 tos. But taller.
Maybe they should be fearful of facing Ayo. 🤔

What does complimenting one player and recognizing their greatness have to do with the other? They're both worthy of eliciting fear from an opponent. Recognizing that in one player doesn't take away from the other in any way.

And Cade, like Ayo, is a gamer. Go look at his split averages by opponent. He's played his best against Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma, etc...the games that one would be really motivated for, much like the tourney.

I don't know how accurate this site is, but if he thinks he will go second round I bet Kofi is gone.

I agree if Kofi is in the 2nd round he should go.

If Kofi were a year or two younger, there'd be a great case for him to come back & try to improve that stock. If the 2nd round feedback is legitimate, this would be his best window of opportunity and should go this year.

Agreed. If he gets feedback that he's relatively safe in the 2nd round, he should go. I think I heard he's about to turn 22. At that age, coming back is basically a detriment to your draft status.

I believe that this is true, but it doesn't take my feelings into consideration. If Kofi decides to do what's best for me, he'll be back!

Normal field goal percentage in the year 2021 is almost useless with how much the 3pt shot and getting to the line is emphasised and some of the most effiicent shots.

Ayo .566 TS%
Cade .574 TS%

Cade like Ayo both wanted to help rebuild their hometown teams, the handful of games i watched Cade he didn't have very much talent around him and hes also 2 years younger than Ayo.

I want Kofi to come back, but I agree. If he can go, he should go and take care of himself. Love Kofi, want him, back, and he has grown. But it may well be in his best interest to take that next step. He likely would grow more moving on.

Bulls traded their first-round pick in 2021 to Orlando. So I guess it is impossible for Ayo to play for Chicago this year.

Just peeked at one or two mock draft boards. General consensus seems to be 6 or 7 Big Ten players in the 1st and 2nd rounds:

1. Wagner - roughly sitting at #8-15
2. Ayo - # 34 ish
3. Weiscamp
4. Garza
5. Livers
6. Harper
7. Jackson-Davis
8. Henry -- borderline

It further confirms that I have no business attempting to judge NBA talent. Glad I settled into the profession that I did......IllinoisLoyalty blog agitator and historian.

Well I for one would take Ayo and Kofi over Wagner. Biased? Maybe but Wagner has never impressed me - especially not #8-15!

Where is all the love for Wagner? Maybe he is a stud in games I don't watch, but I've never seen him do anything top 15 worthy
