I have to say that when I saw the Sox lineup before the game….it looked really strong. A lineup that has not played together much due to injuries. I believe the “experts” are selling this team short….those same experts that expected the Sox to steam roll through the division last year.

Oh, and I love the pitch clock!

Cease was losing his control and has been having an awful spring. It was his first time with the pitch clock in a high stress situation. I had absolutely no problem with pulling him when he did. Cease was amazing. Moncada, though a bonehead attempt to get to third, seemed more engaged. I like that we have a coach that wants energy and I think that will translate to the players. Need to get timely hitting but everything else was pretty damn good I would say. Hope these guys can turn the corner this year and make the real run we have been expecting they can make.

Agreed. And that was without Colas starting. I think it's a pretty solid lineup top to bottom. Just hoping to see improvement from last year's injury issues and that the pitching holds up. Also nice to have a manager that's awake for a good portion of the game. 😁

Absolutely love the pitch clock. A game that actually moves along without one's attention drifting off. More action is fun to watch -- who knew?!

And also love the bigger bases to bring the speed game back instead of nothing but pretty launch angles and everyone always swinging for the fences.
And infielders who actually... play on the infield!

Players might grumble in the beginning about change but they always quickly adjust to the new. All the major sports have made significant changes to their games and the players got on board quickly.

And yes... the Sox look like they have a solid offense going there and have the makings of good pitching staff. But they still need to field the baseball better.
