IMO Morocco has the best D. Text-book D. Perfect shape all the time. Will not be surprised if they take it all.

I'm sure many of us heard about Grant Wahl's passing over the weekend. Here's his official cause of death from Wahl's widow, who is a doctor, which she posted on Wahl's substack:

"Grant died from the rupture of a slowly growing, undetected ascending aortic aneurysm with hemopericardium. The chest pressure he experienced shortly before his death may have represented the initial symptoms. No amount of CPR or shocks would have saved him. His death was unrelated to COVID. His death was unrelated to vaccination status. There was nothing nefarious about his death."

The hemopericardium she mentions is blood in the sac that surrounds the heart.

The referee from the U.S.-Wales match is officiating the 3rd place match between Croatia and Morocco. He hasn't been the referee in any other match in this tournament since U.S.-Wales.

This. No word yet on whether CONCACAF will go back to hex for next cycle. Though I will say a hex without the USMNT, Mexico, and Canada could actually be kind of entertaining just for the randomness you'll likely get from the matches.

2-1 Les Blues. For all the romance of this being Messi's last World Cup and whether he can finally overcome this one last major hurdle and cement his legacy, I think France is the better, more complete team, and Mbappe is better than Messi at this point in time.
