How in the hell can a team go 0 for 7 on the power play. That is just ridiculous
It would be...until you realize how god awful the Blues power play has been all season.

Was he in charge of the PP during the cup run? I know he was on stafffCould see it coming,no intensity, lack of physicality, message just not getting across.Montgomery was a huge loss for Blues, special teams were his cup of tea.His imput was a big part of it,just look at what Boston has fared since his hiring.Steve Ott on PP,not good.
Could of been a combination,Montgomery led PK,might have assisted PP with Ott.Montgomery seemed to be Berube's voice to the players while also being main x-o's man.Was he in charge of the PP during the cup run? I know he was on stafff
Naw, Monty was still coaching Dallas at the timeCould of been a combination,Montgomery led PK,might have assisted PP with Ott.Montgomery seemed to be Berube's voice to the players while also being main x-o's man.
Berube fired after tonight's loss to the Red Wings.
Sucks to see it happen but sadly not surprising. Especially given how things went last season and for much of this season. Tonight's loss at home to Detroit was what finally did him in. Berube did have a 3-year contract that ran through the end of next season. He'll always have a place in the team's history when he was a midseason hire back in 2018 to take over for Mike Yeo and led them to the Stanley Cup.
Former NHL player Drew Bannister, who has been their AHL head coach with the Springfield Thunderbirds for the past 3 seasons and led the team to the Calder Cup final in 2022, has been named the interim head coach in Berube's place.
My bad,was thinking of 20-21 year, faulty old memory,Montgomery was in fact in charge of PP during his brief stay,#2 that year.Bruins made wise decison.Naw, Monty was still coaching Dallas at the time
from this outsider's POV, Armstrong's shuffling the deck chairs
Quotes from Armstrong since the firingYeah I'm basically on the idea that Armstrong was looking for a scapegoat. If the team keeps going on the trajectory they are now, I wouldn't be surprised if Armstrong's seat starts to get pretty warm.
Coaches always take the fall. Armstrong may have screwed the pooch on building this team but the "fall guy" is the coach.
