While it might not reach excitement level, I think almost everyone (certainly the large majority) on the board is happy for him. It’s the endless posts about BU screwing it up and how Podz would have been a huge part of last year’s team if he hadn’t been “forced out” — taking over the recruiting thread instead of keeping it in the former Illini thread or this thread and the NBA thread.

Best thing that ever happened for Podz was there not being enough room for him here to get consistent minutes — and him going to a smaller conference. That gave him an opportunity and to his credit he didn’t just run with it, he sprinted, long jumped and pole vaulted with it. He wouldn’t have gotten that opportunity here — look at the number of shots he took this year at Santa Clara. Sure it’s a miss by BU, but no where the size of miss people want to make it out to be. I’d guess 98% of P6 coaches would have had same miss.

Completely disagree. For whatever reason BU had a predefined idea about Podz's role and wouldn't budge from that - for that reason you are probably right that his minutes at UI would have been limited last year. However, a lot of other coaches would not have made the same mistake.
