What’s a bummer is Adam’s had to play out of position almost the entire year. He was a dominant guard that struggled at right tackle.
If we had a decent tackle, Adams at guard would have been huge. He nor Crisler handled tackle well. That being said, I think Adams will have a solid NFL career. He and Tip together in AZ!

Here's the NFL.com draft info on Taylor:

Draft Projection
Rounds 4-5

Overview

Taylor’s leg strength matches his impressive size. No punter was allowed to ply their craft more in recent years than Taylor thanks to Iowa’s struggling offense. He has proven to possess the power of an NFL punter and his hang-time is fairly solid when the rugby-style punts are removed from the evaluation process. The directional punting and touch will need sharpening, but Taylor could come off the board in the middle rounds and find work in the league.

Strengths

  • Highly decorated All-American punter and FBS record-holder with 4,479 punt yards.
  • Outstanding size with hand-eye coordination to rescue off-frame snaps as punter/holder.
  • Planted nearly half of his 162 punts inside the 20-yard line from 2021 to 2022.
  • Displayed power to dig his unit out from deep in its own side of the field.

Weaknesses

  • Slower approach pace, contributing to three career blocked punts (per PFF).
  • Fails to squarely hit punts more often than expected.

With the 122nd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select Tory Taylor, P, Iowa.

I wonder if the new kickoff rule played into this pick. Given the supposed talent dropoff, in the later rounds, I don't mind this pick at all.

I think Taylor can be impactful for us but...surprised no pass rush help for Sweat though...

Gill’s punting was pretty bad- they needed to replace him, you can argue whether or not this was the way to do it I guess.

one can easily argue that really good special teams can get you 7 points a game
or
that bad special teams can cost you 7 points a game

No issue taking the punter if we didn’t only have 4 picks and have drafted no defensive guys. Gonna have to find some undrafted help or scraps from other teams to fill out the roster.

I wonder if they believe Dexter and Pickens will continue to improve; they did show flashes of solid play in December. Still they definitely need depth, maybe they'll trade back into this draft in the 5th or 6th round. Or go after some free agents later on.

Dip your nuggets in my staff source sauce.
I believe Poles understands this draft class is extremely weak and is in no way eager to get back in it.

Iowa's punter was their best weapon last couple of seasons. He is the reason that everyone started deep in their own end. Iowa crowd came to their feet when he jogged onto the field.
