2025 IHSA Football Playoffs

Everyone recruits. Public schools need to keep their kids home. I follow Montini. They have beaten Fenwick, Marist, and Carmel this year. They aren’t taking all of the D1 kids. The QB doesn’t live close, but they are kids largely from the area. They are kicking everyone’s asses with 5ft9 at best wide outs and small line backers. That Tenuta kid, you could make an argument he is the best LB in the state pound for pound. He will not play a lick of D1 football.

yeah iirc, they are starting the season a week earlier.
edit : confirmed vis IHSA website . first game is one week earlier than this year

just about all schools start classes by 8/15 now so they get the whole semester in by Christmas break

Besides for mt Carmel most of these teams are made up with kids that’ll play d3 football

Yep they are starting a week earlier. The more I learn about this vote the more poorly thought out it is.

BTW CPC head coach Brad Dixon has been a twitter venting run since this decision. I posted his first reaction on the IHSA sports thread by mistake.

Because most officials i know schedule years ahead of time by week. Date isn't as big a deal. I know where we're going to be week 5 of 2027 and week 8 of 2028.i have no idea what those dates are.
Just a personal preference i guess.

But if some conferences do it one way and others the other way.... then you've got a fiasco and puts officials in a tough place.

Especially if you've got some conferences that haven't decided yet. Which we do

They have a Florio. Those kids are fast!!

But the number of games or officials do not change. The games will be filled.

Also your crew thinks they are going to those games in 2027 or 2028 until someone allows a fifth down on a field goal in the state playoffs and then you are unassigned the games.

The 2024 Loyola team had a few d1 kids and they still got boat raced by esl. Besides that their teams are made up with kids that will play d3, Ivy League or patriot league football.

This takes place this year and week 0 is now week 1
