Granted they're playing against a Tunisia side that is struggling but I could see Sweden causing issues for the Netherlands and Japan.
That group could become a sneaky group of death (or at least it would have been before 2/3 of the third place teams qualified).

I’ve watched USA soccer since who knows when. Went to a WC game at the Cotton Bowl in ‘94. Watched most if not all USA WC games since then. By far, that was their best performance I have ever seen.

Unrelated note, can’t wait to see Zlatan just punch Lalas in the mouth.

Tunisia have sacked manager Sabri Lamouchi. Move had been coming for awhile as there were issues between him and their FA in the lead up to the tournament.

Herve Renard, who will be managing his 3rd separate nation in as many World Cups (Morocco 2018, Saudi Arabia 2022), has been hired as Lamouchi's replacement.

He should have only had 1 if he had been properly given a red card.
As a soccer official who just stepped away from the the field and who stays up to date with forums discussion like this one, the overwhelming consensus among officials was missed caution for that play. Not enough speed or force to override the location of contact. I agree with the consensus.

There have been a lot of great stories coming out of this tournament but this may be favorite: https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_...rink-boston-dry-local-bars-run-beer-world-cup
Having lived in Scotland for three years from 2013-2016, that is no surprise to me...I might just ask what took them so long. :ROFLMAO: I recall many flights I took that left at 6 am, requiring to get to the Aberdeen airport at 4:30. The airport bar was usually packed at that time of the morning, and they weren't just eating breakfast.

Just read that article. Looks like they cleared out the everything except Bud Light. Well, Boston Lager and Tennent's. The story I saw last night said they cleared out all the Tennent's. One could argue that there isn't much difference between Tennent's and Bud Light...
