I know it's like they think that missed call was a guarantee. He could have missed all 3 free throws, made all 3 and the game is tied. You just can't put yourself in a position to let the refs decide the game. Sometimes it works for you (2019 Virginia) and sometimes it doesn't (Iowa today).

I started the tournament with the whole 'Let's root for the B10!' mindset.

As much as I hate them. I was still rooting for Iowa just for the conference's sake. It just isn't a good look that we have the highest seeded upset already from a team that wouldn't have been in the tournament outside of a 4 game run.

We both are, and we both understand that any Iowa loss is good for all mankind and the universe in total.
I really think that "a league like ours" is going to take the opposite meaning of what you're intent is if the conference doesn't start winning some games. Bad enough that the conference didn't get a seed better than 3, but teams #4 and #5 in the Big Ten are already out....including the tournament winner.
