I think our frontcourt is going to be an advantage against either of these teams. Ivisic and a healthy Morez should dominate inside and out. I haven't seen anyone that guards like Bam does. All of this with the caveat that we play up to our capabilities of course.

If they had all of these traits, they would not be playing tonight.
They’ve been inefficient from two (force a lot of bad attempts), concede a lot of clean look threes (breakdowns) and are just average at rebounding.

They certainly have a good ceiling but they have not put it together consistently this season.

Great was bad word choice, probably, true

Great would be like if they looked like the 96 Bulls, right?

Both teams are efficient tonight and getting after it
Fair enough. I guess I mean just two 11 seeds playing eachother and the last at large teams in. Nothing I see so far has surprised me.

I feel very differently about this. Tomi hasn't performed the best defensively against strong, athletic frontcourt players, and from what I can see, Texas definitely has such players. We'll see though. I hope that you're right and I'm wrong.

Texas doesn't scare me. Xavier doesn't scare me.

Illinois scares me.

To continue with another Breaking Bad reference....we are Walter White. Equal parts amazing....and terrible.

Hopefully we are the brilliant chemist Friday night.

I think Texas can be forced into some bad shots. And they've been shown to be weak against superior offensive rebounding teams. Definitely a Jekyll and Hyde type.

Xavier looks very average in this game at least.

What happened to the NIT? It used to have prestige. Now it’s all mid majors.
Mega conferences — 14 teams from SEC, 8 from B1G and 7 from Big 12 don’t leave much for NIT. Add in 5 or 6 teams opting not. At least a few of those were P5 teams. And then the Crown siphoned out some P5 schools. Result is two watered dow tournaments.

I hate watching a game of this exact scenario involving Illinois. Two teams of similar caliber, both with different strengths and weaknesses, players returning from injuries to complicate past results....I still have no idea who to root for

The difference in my mind is that we haven't been able to play both Morez and Tomi at the same time recently. I think that makes a big difference. No offense, but I hope I am right too! lol
