If I’m not mistaken, this is NOT a play in game. The NCAA made sure to emphasize that when they expanded to 68 teams. It is in fact the first round.
We, the audience, keep referring to it as a play-in game, and keep referring to the round of 64 as round one.
But I’m pretty sure we’re wrong.

Regardless, SPRM should not be bragging about getting to a First Four (and then of course losing). Probably would have been better just to call it a day and not get in. Hope not too many of their fans risked COVID for that.
It would be more of the players and coaches fighting on the sideline for me, if I was a recruit. That was a bad look for a school that has already dished out nearly a billion in lawsuits. One day a basketball player will be filing too and it wont take far for lawyers to find video.

Yes, cut from the same cloth. The success went to their head, they now feel entitled to winning no matter what it takes, and when they feel it slipping away they begin lashing out; at players, at the media, at other teams taking away what they perceive to be theirs by right. Seen it before and it ends in ugly fashion.
Oh the pampered world cant handle a kid getting yelled at cmon. Don't think our coach hasn't went there cause I would bet he has. That's who Izzo is and I would be proud to have my kid play for him.

Agreed. Don't think there's anything wrong with what Izzo did. However, it did look like a lot of locker room drama and finger pointing between the players. From a recruits standpoint, gotta imagine that's not a good look.

For good or bad, times have changed. You don’t put your hands on a kid in this day and age especially in front of millions of viewers. Oh yes the old timers will come out and say that’s just Izzo. Guess what? That performance last night, with him whining about 75% of the calls and grabbing Brown will effect recruiting. Count on it. If I was an opposing coach I would use that to my advantage every chance I had.

Last night was the beginning of the end for Izzo. He is out of touch. I don't think he makes it to 2025.
Do you also want your kids screaming and grabbing his teammates during in game situations showing complete lack of maturity and growth as a 22 year old? If so, then I have no further comment, because that will follow them throughout life. Pro ball, professional career, relationship, etc.
Perhaps we should all spend a few year in the military to learn a little self-discipline and professionalism.
Nothing wrong with getting coached hard in sports or at work, but complete lack of control is another thing, and that was a complete lack of control by the entire coaching staff, players, and program.

No way I'd want my kid playing for Izzo and I have no problem with my kids getting yelled at (in a sane, rational way) if they are not performing. I just don't like his whining, sense of entitlement, and I don't actually think he's an in-game genius, rather highly reliant on talent (C Winston says hello).
And of course the issues with player sexual assault.
