Watching Loyola a nd Ohio State. Loyola ice cold offensively which is my biggest concern with us. One bad shooting night and we will be sleeping in our own beds tomorrow.

Happened to Iowa as well.

I like Illinois chances more because of the strong defensive mentality. Even if they are not shooting well, they should be able to keep it close.

Williamson for Loyola is just not that awful. Me thinks some forensic accounting might shed some light on the O$U success.

Feels like things have calmed down a bit since yesterday's carnage. I would be okay with a full-chalk day (especially if we're part of it).

That wouldn't be bad, but I'd prefer if TCU, Miami and Virginia Tech won.

A lot of talk about no Championship for the Big 10 since MSU in 2000.

Since that time, the Big 10 and ACC are tied with the most Final Four appearances - 14 each. Both with 6 different schools reaching the Final Four. Of course, 2 of those 14 ACC appearances were by Maryland, who are now in the Big 10.

The Big East is next with 12 Final Four appearances by 5 different schools.

The Big 12 and SEC have 10 appearances each by 6 and 5 different schools respectively.

The PAC 12 has 7 appearances by 3 different schools.

CUSA has 3 appearances by 3 schools, none of whom are still in that conference.

The Colonial, Horizon, Missouri Valley, American and WCC have 2 each.

The point is, the Big 10 has acquitted itself fine since the last time it won a championship. Three of their finals appearances ended in 5, 5 and 6 point losses that could have gone the other way.

I think the most likely cause of the championship drought is bad luck.

Thank You. That is both helpful and interesting.

People like to argue that 21 years of bad luck doesn’t seem right, but it’s really not like that. You have to have a team with a string of good luck and capable of winning it, then still comes down to one game against a very good opponent. Let’s say every other year big ten produces a team capable of winning it, that team still needs some luck for several games as well - any bad luck along the way they can fall out of the tournament.

Meanwhile, in the Women's tournament:

The level of disparity between the top...10? women's teams and everything else is just crazy right now. Combine that with the protected seeds playing at home, and you get games like this.
