Friggin Buckeyes. So B10 is 1 out of 3 so far. Whisky likely to go down. If we like getting a 1 seed with 6 losses, we better hope the B10 wins a few games. Why people want to see our conference lay an egg makes no sense to me.
Because how the conference performs is not a reflection of our own performance.

What makes WIsconsin likely to go down? Upsets happen, and Michigan State was not a good team away from their home cooking officiating.

Cold shooting, especially from three point range, crucial turnovers, missed free throws.
Thanks for the synopsis. I cut out of work to watch our game but didn’t call in for the whole day ;)

They struggle containing bigs and North Carolina has a plethora of them.

Well, go undefeated and make a strong run every year in the NCAA like Gonzaga and I guess your fine. Play a B10 schedule against what’s considered a weak conference and see what that does to your Kenpom rating. Personally, I’d love nothing more than to see and all B10 Final 4. JMO

How other big ten teams perform in a one-off, single elimination tournament game does not impact our KenPom Ranking.

I am watching the game. Neither of those teams scare me at all. With our defense, they (either team) do not have enough to beat us.

Illinois should move to the Sweet Sixteen.
Having been and Illini fan for since the mid-50s, I would never make a categorical prediction about any collegiate game. But the defensive facet of this team, given a 40 min. effort and focus, is definitely the key to beating Loyola. No tricks needed....the Illini play the defensive end with excellence for the past month and it shows dramatically. In this tournament, the 3 pt. shot is the great equalizer, but the Illini work through screens and stay on the ball as well as any team I have seen...at least lately as it was not a 40 minute effort until then. Seems like they got the message and have worked hard to make it theirs...every day. But MVC teams are nothing if not patient. And their coaches are smart enough to know if they work hard on both ends, limit turnovers, and hit the three, their top 2 or 3 teams can win on any given night. This Illini team can put a big clog in that machine if they defend and take care of the ball. I can't imagine they came this far to forget that. Loyola will likely make it a single digit game most of the way....but these Illini have not done the work to let the Ramblers ramble over them!!

This OSU/Liberty game is fugly basketball.
That's how Liberty plays. They want to slow it down and frustrate their opponent. Their head coach was an assistant at Virginia under Tony Bennett if you're familiar with Virginia style basketball.

I must be out of the loop. What’s wrong with Liberty?
It has to do with who they have hired (Hugh Freeze and the Baylor AD that was part of hiding the sex assault scandal within the Baylor football program). And then their former president is a pretty garbage human being. So in essence, a “Christian” school hiring individuals with...shall we say...at best extremely questionable morals and at worst straight villains.

Edit: At least I assume that’s what it’s about

I think that style is effective against teams that are average defensively in the half court. Don't think it would work against us because we will just suffocate you
