Great 1st round matchup for Drake. They played a team that allowed Drake to dictate tempo. I still contend Illinois would have won by double digits. But Drake has a huge win on its resume.

UC San Diego must have watched too much Illini film since we killed Michigan. They're spamming 3s and turnovers

Every year or two or three, a Valley team makes the sweet sixteen and every 5-8 years an elite eight. They do not get the elite athletes, but they do get good coaches and talented players with a chip on their shoulders who can play the game. Generally, that game is at a slower pace as those good coaches are not foolish enough to run up and down and jack up threes with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. It takes patience and unselfish/smart offense and hard work on defense to beat them. If you don't understand that they have smart, skilled players, you will be heading home wondering what just happened. But they are not Duke or Auburn...play hard and smart and most Power 5 teams can beat them.
