Was that out on Samford? Looks like Kansas touched it last.

It is clear game changing missed calls like the one we just saw which makes me wish that a coach had a challenge in college basketball.

These refs have a hard job, and in real time I thought there was no way that the block was clean...I was very wrong.
It’s 2024 not 1950, need to get our act together and use technology properly. That was one of the most iconic calls in tournament history - AI needs to take over soon.

That was still a better call than the technical on Melendez....that's a really low ceiling. Did the announcer call Gonzaga almost a blue blood? lmao

Maybe he meant they have blue balls

So I guess I was wrong about the tip times.

Surprisingly the games in SLC are going to be the early tip off games on Saturday with the first game (Dayton/Zona) having a 10:45 mountain time tipoff.

I hear you, but be careful for what you wish. By the letter of the rule there is a foul or traveling on virtually every play. If AI refs call it to the book, the game will become unwatchable/unplayable.

A high major referee just decided an NCAA Tournament game. Wow.
Yes, but remember, Samford still had a chance to score even after that terrible call and they didn't get it done. At the end of the day, they were down 22 pts so they have nobody to blame but themselves. They just came up a bit short there at the end

I think everyone thought Samford was going to fold like McNeese did and to their credit, they just kept grinding and coming after them

Being down 3 after a made free throw and the defense has a chance to set is very different than being down 1 in a fast break opportunity with an opposing team’s player on the ground behind the play.

You cannot say that Samford would've taken the lead or not. It is simply speculation at that point. Bottom line, they still had a chance to get the game tying three pointer or to score a two and foul and didn't take care of business.

Stop making this about one play. It's never about one play in this game.
