3/23 Games

After I promise everyone who watched the Oregon game that they will get to see some Spread offense, Oregon did not run it during the parts of the game I watched. They did run some sets from the starting formation, but never the continuity. Maybe next time. I was personally really disappointed.

Glad you said that because I watched part of the game and didn't see it. I was hoping that I didn't miss it.

Yeah, a couple of their late sets, specifically a double ball screen with a roll/pop option at the top came out of the spread set. They scored on them too. Really good plays.

That confirms what I thought I saw. They seemed to set up in the spread a few times but didn't run the continuity the way that it was described. Having said that, even setting up in the spread seems to open the court up for some good movement.

When you start so high the whole baseline, corner to corner, is WIIIIIIIIDE open. When you do some misdirection and slip someone to the front of the rim, the defense is generally out of position to help because of the way the offense is spaced. Also for teams that force baseline as a principal, the drive and drift options are wide open because the angle to the rim is so much better.

Hey CA, will you be there on Saturday? How was the crowd tonight? I'll be doing the anthem for the final and hopefully sticking around for the game, should be a fun one!

I wish, but I'm out of town for the weekend. Crowd was probably 80% full and lively.

You're singing the anthem? Very cool if so...good luck!
