A portion of Hamilton's post game interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s9nzXwG0io
Did anybody see Leonard Hamilton's post-game interview on this?
Granted, reporters trying to press coaches on why they didn't do X, Y, or Z right after a heartbreaking season-ending loss doesn't always produce a very polite response. But dang......Hamilton's response was pretty bad.
"Why didn't you foul down 4 with 11 seconds left?"
"Because the game was over"
With no time outs and 11 seconds left, you need to foul twice, and hope Michigan goes 2-4 at best. Xavier Simpson shoots like 50% at line, the other guys shoot like 75-80. If you get lucky you need a couple 3s. A long shot, yes, especially cause FSU has like one reliable shooter. Impossible? No.
I’d even foul in that situation down 6. 7? I could understand letting it ride.
Consensus by the commentators right after the interview was that Hamilton likely was covering for his player who was supposed to foul. If so, then that is a classy move and explains his frustration with the reporter.
The assistant on the sideline did seem exasperated that the player wasn’t fouling.

That's a fair point. Even if Hamilton didn't explicitly call for his player to foul, his players' instincts should have taken over.
It wasn't just one kid who failed to foul. Nobody even attempted to foul. Isn't that something you'd think the coaches would have drilled into the team? Either way, a strange ending.
Musselman's last 25 second clock management was not much better.
