Between those two? I'll take the s16 blowout 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.
It doesn't matter. It really doesn't. The only thing that I'm going to remember about BYU this year is then being in the game where Alabama made 25 threes. Unless you are on the losing end of a massive upset, losing anywhere short of a final four....it's all the same. No banners, nobody remembers, you're one one 67 teams that had their season end with a loss.

I feel differently about this. It's a straightforward question. Who had a better 24-25 season, us or BYU? Easy question to answer for every serious basketball fan.

They had a better season, which is 6 months long, because they beat Wisconsin by 2, then lost to Bama by 25, while we lost to Kentucky by 9?

NET Rankings
Illinois 17
BYU 25

KenPom
Illinois 17
BYU 26

Torvik
Illinois 20
BYU 14

NCAA Seeds
Illinois 6
BYU 6

The serious basketball fan would look deeper into a season than one darn game, see how the season unfolded and come to a rational conclusion.

However, by most metrics, Illinois unequivocally had the better season.

This continues to be the worst tournament I can remember. What do we have to do to get a classic finish, or even a good game for 40 minutes?

Maryland-Colorado State I suppose, but that one took place when everyone here was depressed about the Illini/Kentucky so doesn't even really count. Sure hope we get a couple better games tomorrow night.

I can remember far worse tournaments than this. I can remember 2009 as one that comes to mind. There was a bunch of chalk and nothing in that tournament outside of Pitt/Vill in the Elite 8. That Final Four was terrible too.

Duke got away with a hook n hold there.
Same level as what was called against AZ.

Both games here have tightened up in the final 2 minutes. Maybe entertaining evening after all.
