Am I in the minority that thinks the Big 10 is just not that good this year? As conference play progressed it just kept on becoming more and more apparent to me. Yes there is parity, but is it parity of a not so good conference?
Tough to say. The B1G generally had a good non-conference season, outside of the Big 12 and maybe SEC. Beating up each other in conference does not necessarily mean the league as a whole is not good.

Pundits will have a clear answer next week. If the B1G flops again, then many will say the league was trash, but there are a number of B1G teams that can get hot and make S16.

I will refrain from making any judgment for now.

And once the B1G gets into conference play, everyone knows their opponents inside and out. A lot of very very bright coaches in the conference, there are no bad teams.

PSU got lucky. I don’t think fouling with 5 seconds left is not the strategy. You need to foul with 2 or less seconds
I agree with you for the general strategy. However, it was clear (at least to me) that Buie would be running into a rythym 3 if the foul was not taken when it was.

The percentage game almost beat Penn State.

Maryland makes a trick shot by shooting behind and *over* the backboard. And the refs wave it off! At least they didn't call a flagrant 1. Think they might have reached their daily quota...

What is the reason for that being disallowed? I don't understand.
i don't get it either. it's not like it's an easier shot to make. Google says the NBA rule is "any ball that rebounds or passes directly behind the backboard, in any direction is considered out of bounds" so I guess it applies to the college game too

Maryland is a collective 5-10 away and on a neutral court. They are also 19-1 when leading at the half. Somethings got to give!

Thanks for this. The rule is the rule. I just don't understand the reasoning behind it. The shot is being taken from a legal, in bounds location on the court.
Agreed man. Let teams try to take that shot if they want. It doesn’t hurt anything and provides for some good highlights. Such a stupid do nothing rule.

I have never seen so many players slipping and sliding on these floors in games and not just in Chicago. Is it the shoes, stickers on the floors,or ice underneath the floors. It really seems to be happening more and more often. I’m glad no one has been hurt so far
