VA Tech tries a long pass to get a shot with about 1.5 seconds left in the first half. Gets picked off. Kid from Wake hits 3/4 court heave as time expires. Seems like something that would happen to us.
Since we need Wake to lose it in a way did happen to us.

I think Wake is in fairly easily anyway.
I know it only two, but Palm and Lunardi have them among the last 4 in so they are a team that Illinois can possibly pass.

Who knows, maybe Rutgers reeling off two wins in a row will help us out a bit with the committee. OSU is no powerhouse this year, but the phrase "Rutgers beats Ohio State" evokes thoughts that Rutgers is maybe not that bad, considering OSU's successful seasons this decade.

Rutgers isn't really as bad as some people think and what their record indicates. Had Northwestern (at Northwestern) and Wisconsin beat but gave it away with their free throw shooting. Almost had Michigan beat as well.
Rutgers winning doesn't help NW get back in the top 50, though they had to win 2 to do that anyway.
I hope Wake is in. If they're not, we have no chance. I don't think we can pass them unless we win 2 at least. Wake's resume is a lot better than ours imo. Syracuse on the other hand, I think we pass them with one win. Hoping for a DePaul win tonight and a Baylor win tomorrow. I think those two things would put us in a great situation to get in. Also I think Northwestern winning 2 is ESSENTIAL if we want to get in with only a Michigan win.

By the way, did we get saved by not getting Shaka? Texas down by 10 to T Tech. 10-21 record in th B12. Ouch. Now, back to your regularly scheduled program.
Lots of game left, but DePaul leading Xavier late in the first half.
You're not the first to make that observation. I think a number of Illinois fans will be checking in on Texas in the coming years to see what's going on there.
If the BTT is any indication, March Madness is already in full swing.

Sure as heck can't hurt. I don't think Wake's resume is all that impressive, but bracketologists have them in. I believe some have them in the First 4 out though so it for sure helps.
Doesn't hurt them. I think their win over Louisville probably got them in.
