Adam Miller transfers to LSU

So there is some IHSA ref and UK fan going around on Twitter saying that Miller is transferring because he was lied to by Underwood and he is 90% transferring to UK. So what was the lie? "You will start here every game this year." "We are going to make you a one and done lottery pick." "Ayo isn't coming back so you are the guy."

Its really hard to believe this "lie" would have been about on the court stuff. Maybe something went on off the court, but he was given every opportunity to succeed this past year.

It turned out that Curbelo was the obvious playmaker. Who saw that coming when Miller was recruited? Miller was the average (IMO) 3-pt specialist and he shared that duty with Frazier who in turn took a back seat to Ayo's heroics.
That's the way it works in every business not just BBall.

That's what makes America great - competition! We all have to deal with it and do what works out best for each of us. It'll be no different at UK or anywhere else.

The only thing I can imagine was that maybe he was promised the point after Ayo left? Just a guess, but I can't imagine what else.

From what I've seen (from Big Tim, so TIFWIW) he was told he'd be the go to scorer and be given the opportunity to create, but instead they used him as a kick-out shooter. The video suggests that as well. Idk, I got nervous when he tried to drive a lot earlier in the season because it didn't work out very well. Dre passed him up with creating plays and is a better passers. Got a better 3 point threat in Plummer and some super athletic tall wings. Looks like things just didn't work out based on player development throughout the season and how BU utilized all the available tools, it happens.

Exactly. We ended the season as the number two team in America and a 1 seed. We won the big ten tournament. We had two all Americans. We had a star freshman. I’m sorry it wasn’t you Adam. Either work harder or leave. But, don’t put this on Underwood. His job is to win games. We did. A ton of them. You played huge minutes. You had more than a fair shake.

There can be a difference between what you envision for a player and what they actually earn. I am quite certain the former didn’t match the latter in this case.

There were also plenty of opportunities for Adam to show case his dribble drive game. Its not like he would be pulled for attacking the rim. He was a spot up shooter because thats all his skill set allowed him to do.

It could be argued Underwood actually improved him by giving minutes and Adam had to adjust to be a more complete player. But Brad played him over Andre the second half of the year when it was clear who was the better player. Luckily Andre was a team first guy and wanted to win.
