Little Wabash River , Southern IL.
These transfer rules really can decimate a program. Bluebloods only ones who benefit.

In a team short on outside shooters, this hurts. OTOH, Despite our outside shooting struggles, we proved you can go a long ways with defense, driving, and an elite front court. Ayo and Trent were both down this last season on 3pt%, and yet we were a game away from sharing the BT championship.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trent's outside game bounced back. And the offseason has never been bigger for opportunities to fill roster spots. Gonna stay optimistic despite being bummed that he isn't happy enough to stick with it here.

As if it wasn’t already needed badly. We HAVE to have Trent shooting above 40% from three this year now
Maybe something like Grandison, Miller, and someone else stepping up would effectively boost the 3 pt shooting enough. If Trent shoots 40% on threes that would probably bode well for the season, but not sure that can be expected within the game plan, Trent being a defensive stopper, etc.

Liked Griffin and do wish he was staying. But, as I said earlier, I’m still calm about the team and wish him well.

Trent shot .309 from 3 last year while taking on a much more demanding role. Time and additional comfort, I believe that improves. Griffin did shoot.416. Thats good. No doubt about it. Damonte ended up at .283. If he can shoot like he did in the final 2+ weeks of the season with confidence and can even reach .333 that would be huge.

With that being said, I think we will have a better shooting team overall. Plus, I’ll work with Kofi being down low dominating the boards. I see an improved team coming...

Damonte shooting better is a game changer, literally.

Monte's shooting did improve toward the end of the season. He just needs more confidence shooting it. He certainly doesn't force any shots. I think AG had doubts about being able to start on this team.

In BU we trust
Chattanooga
Tevian has shown flashes that he can be a reliable 3pt shooter. With more volume and PT, I would be thrilled if he could knock down 35% or greater.

Welcome to the new reality. Surprise transfers will be a constant in the future. I think it is a mistake on AG's part but i wish him well (unless he stays in the B10).

I'm gonna give a hot take here. I think underwood and the staff have shown ability to adapt to situations. I think we have a fine roster and there is a reason brad brought in 2 wing transfers. People were wondering why we "wasted" 2 scholarships on sit-outs, well this is why. Yeah this sucks but it also might be for the best, (there is some issues happening off the court). Also if he wants to go somewhere to be the star then good luck to him. There were not a ton of minutes to go around next year and if he wants 30+ with his defense he prolly wasn't going to get that.

Doubtful. Dad, like any parent, just want their kids to be happy and obviously Alan wasn't at UI. Now hearing that Seton Hall, Dad's alma mater, is getting involved.

Seton Hall would be a good fit as well as Nova...both schools could probably use his skill set. Wish him the best.

I don't know Alan, aside from being a fan of his contributions to our beloved this season. That said, by all accounts from what I have seen on social media over the past year-plus from Kipper, Trent, Geiorgi, Ayo, Tyler U, and others Alan ALWAYS looked really happy and close with the entire team. I get that social media only portrays what people "want" others to see, etc. But I doubt his transferring has anything to do with relationships/chemistry with teammates.

Again, I don't have ANY info, but I personally believe this may be because of family influence (Mom?), role next-year with the transfers becoming eligible, and incoming freshmen, or he may be just didn't get along with the coaches. Who knows.

Not so on Nova, but SH certainly. They lost 3 of 5 top scorers. Sister is at Storrs, younger brother will be at R-D and Mom is in NYC area so it all fits. Like I say, don't count out the Hall.

UConn with his sister?

Think his dad will talk him out of it?
If he's gone as far as putting his name in the portal, he's gone. I'm sure he's talked to his family and I'm sure the end of season "exit interview" was conducted by BU.... obviously the two visions of how things were going to work didn't match.

It happens. No different than people being at a job for two years then deciding that the job isn't a fit and they want a change.

I was pretty surprised initially, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. I think most of us believe that Miller and Curbelo will take a significant portion of the minutes vacated by the losses of Ayo and Feliz. DFW isn't going anywhere, so Alan was already looking at a similar role as last year. As fans we don't really know what to make of Hutchison or Grandison, but Alan is in a position to know exactly how good they are ( or aren't). If one or both of them is poised to fight for minutes, he could have potentially been looking at a smaller role than last season. This is before we even consider the addition of Hawkins and any potential transfer... Its going to be a dogfight for minutes every day in practice.
Couple that with his family being on the east coast, and likely not able to attend more than a couple games. (bro @ Duke, sis @ UConn, dad in Toronto, mom in NY) It makes a lot of sense for him to find a school out east where he will get some more usage and showcase his abilities.

I hope to see him excel somewhere. (Ideally outside of the B1G) Thanks for the memories.
