Thanks ugottabjoshinme. I wonder why he posted it. Sure, it sucks to lose the coach, but Lovie SHOULD be able to sell the position better right?
I mean, Lovie now has a coaching tree. That’s pretty good I’d think.
Incredibly hypocritical stance from the guy but it doesn’t mean much.
To highlight the major major need for the staff to bring in a solid recruiter (as mentioned before, could really use a second recruiter to replace someone else on the staff), here is the breakdown of commitments based on the primary recruiter:
Austin Clark (Riggins, Davis, Newton, Shipton, McCoy)
Corey Patterson (Frenchie, Love, Tyler)
Bob McClain (Griffin, Sparks)
Miles Smith (Gardner)
Mike Bellamy (Thompson)
Rod Smith (Spann)
Andrew Hayes-Stoker (none)
Gil Byrd (none)
Keynodo Hudson (none)
Bob Ligashesky (none)
This isn't the end-all-be-all (position focus from 2020 class, certain guys may have been told to focus on building 2021 relationships, etc.).....but it's somewhat terrifying to see the guy responsible for almost 40% of the incoming recruiting class is moving on and Bob McClain is now the 2nd most successful recruiter on the staff.
Yeah. It's like you're a software developer and working for some random startup in, say, Kansas City, and then Google comes calling and wants to double your current salary. You'd be an idiot to say no to that unless you have some serious ties to the area. Can't blame a coach for pretty much the same thing.Odd tweet. Coaches leave all the time. Either fired or go for a better opportunity to further their career. Not much of a difference than the portal.

It's odd because it comes from a person who did the very thing he's complaining about.
These aren’t accurate.

As in, he left early for the draft? (I honestly can’t remember)

I know he's mentioned a few times as the secondary recruiter on 247.
We, like most programs today, don’t recruit that way, however. Our attack is very much collaborative and there’s no way to attribute the landing of some of these kids to one person.
Speaking to two specific FL kids, if Hudson hadn’t pitched them they almost surely wouldn’t have signed.
I suppose that the 2 week posting rule for a University position will be in play, correct? I know it has been tossed aside, in urgent situations, don't know if this will apply. With a Betiku gone, and Clark gone, Lovie better have some urgency with this hire. With the signing period coming up and transfers heating up soon, he can't go 3 months and then hire someone from within. No reason to panic, but he can't drag his feet.
What are the chances Clark's departure was encouraged due to his alleged involvement in a cheating scandal at USC?

None, he wasnt looking for a new Job...Miami sought him out and Lovie told him he had to take it as those opportunities don't happen everyday.how involved could a graduate assistant be?

It was a little conspiracy theory-ish of me, I figured it would get shot down. I was just a little surprised nobody had made the connection.None, he wasnt looking for a new Job...Miami sought him out and Lovie told him he had to take it as those opportunities don't happen everyday.
