Bilas's list just seems to have an awful lot of name recognition on it. Based solely on this season, Braden Smith is lucky to make first team B1G, let alone be on a first team All American. Ditto for Stirtz. In my book, neither one was one of the top 5 players in the B1G last season. Jay's got them listed as 2 of the top 10 players in the country. I respectfully disagree.

Many former ESPN analysts have said that the mother ship calls the shots. If you're top tier, you get to have an opinion a couple times a year, but you figure out how to self censor. The way they treat the SEC certainly checks out.

Bilas doesn't do Big 10 games anymore so I really don't take him very seriously when it comes to evaluating players out of that conference. It seems he's doing very surface level evaluation.

ole pru's eye test....................

Braden Smith....................this year definitely not as dominant as last year...still is a 1st team All B$G member.........
Bennett Stirtz............I just don't see the talent for 1st or 2nd team All B$G......Applaud his minutes per game totals but disappeared on many games I watched the idiots play..................JMHO.............

I dunno Pru, 20 ppg on 49.5% shooting, 38% from 3, 3 rebounds, 5 assists - all pretty darned good numbers. I hate to give an Iowa player credit for anything other than fouling the surface of the earth with their very existence, but had to give him credit where credit is due - he’s damned good.

In less than a year, Keaton went from someone regarded as 'one for the future' and a redshirt candidate to being on his way to achieving the criteria to have his jersey in the rafters at one of the most historic institutions in college basketball. Nothing in college basketball matches that story. And there's still time to do something really, really special

AJ D from BYU is just lazy by the voters. Did he really impact winning like Keaton did? For the majority of the season, Keaton accomplished much more than AJ did, but has tuckered out a bit towards the end, while AJ is coming on stronger now than he did early on. But still, as an integral piece to the team, Keaton was much more impactful.

Maybe its lazy on your end. AJ leads the country in ppg, has rebounds, assists and steals to go with it and is fighting for #1 in the draft for a reason. BYU doesn't sniff the tournament without him. Very biased take. Keaton should be happy to be 2nd team considering his usage wasnt the same in the first half as it was in the 2nd half.
