I don't feel bad for Ayo Dosunmu at all. Majority of mock drafts had him going anywhere from mid 20's to 30's. Dosunmu can use this for a little extra fuel for the tank and motivation to keep improving on his game. I wish nothing but the best for Ayo and I think he will have a long career in the NBA.

There is a reason so many scouts get fired year after year and the same teams remain in the lottery. The last 2 MVPs Nikola Jokic was drafted 41st and Giannis 15th. Other past players in the last 20 years to win MVP not drafted in the top 10 are Kobe Bryant at 13th and Steve Nash at 15th. Ayo Dosunmu may have fallen a bit but this happens all the time and multiple times each draft.

I have to think that this will be a boon re recruiting in Chi., local guy, attends Illinois and now plays for the Bulls.

I must admit I couldn't tell you who plays the 2 for the Bulls.
Doesn't matter, it will be Ayo soon enough.

Whoa! 👀 The Bulls might get Ayo! 🤞🙏🏽
Indeed they did. In the end, the kid got drafted. Was it where we had hoped? Unfortunately, no.

We might all wear different tinted orange glasses on most things, but they should all be bright construction worker safety goggle orange for Ayo to succeed in the NBA.

This is awesome for the Bulls and Ayo! The NBA draft is so weird, some of the guys being picked ahead of him were a bit of a head scratcher. Wagner being a lotttery pick and Ayo and Aaron Henry being second rounders doesn’t make much sense to me. I’ve just never understood the hype behind Wagner.

Wagner will be a bust

What would a 38th pick's contract look like? Does he get a nice signing bonus and guaranteed money?

It won't be hard for Illini / Ayo fans to follow his pro career.

We won't have to wonder how he is faring out in Utah, Memphis, Philly, wherever.

Honest question for everyone...

Did ANYBODY have the Nebraska dude Blanton getting drafted????

That tells me all I thought about the mentality of nba GM's is correct
Dummies...
I never heard of him.

I'm so thrilled he went to the Bulls.

I'm even more curious why he fell, hoping to get some insight as to what teams were thinking. 38 is just too low.

I don’t follow the NBA at all, so I’m also curious about this. At the end of the day, what scenario is better than this for Ayo?
I don't think there's any guidelines for a 2nd round pick. Could get a 1 or 2 year contract, or no guarantees. Money-wise, could be about around a million. Of course, Ayo could have a short contract, do well, and be able to cash in.

It was all of the nonsensical tomfoolery of like 5 teams with all of the 1st round picks

Ryan Pace give his input for the first 37 picks? Ayo got thouroughly screwed but, selfishly, I absolutely love this pick. He has an amazing opportunity. And the cherry on top is that he is in the perfect position to continue to help build the illini as well, apparantly that selfishness wanted seconds.
