Get to the playoffs and anything can happen. Look at the Hawks this year. And this Bulls roster has A LOT more talent overall than last years Hawks squad IMO

I like the optimism. Not sure about 50 wins just b/c their defense is shaping up to be pretty porous. Lavine has shown a lot of improvement on that end with team USA though, so perhaps he can carry that to the regular season. I agree re: anything can happen in the playoffs. High effort can make up for some of so-so defensive fundamentals, and they won't lack for that in the postseason. But I don't agree re: more talented than the Hawks. Hawks had an equally deep roster (even after their injuries) but have the best player, without question.

Bulls last won the title I believe in 1998. Since then how many teams have won a title? 10 or so? Truth is not many teams win a championship. I’ll gladly take 3 or 4 years of “purgatory.” Then we can worry about the rest. Bulls ran into some bad luck last few years in that they always ended up a spot or two too low to get one of the elite guys in a draft. And they weren’t going to attract the elite FA(s) like they were going. I don’t think these moves make them a title contender, but they do make them a playoff team. From there some luck or a big FA signing could put them over top.

IMO the purgatory thing is only true for small markets. All Chicago needs to do is look competent and they should be able to attract big names in the next 2-3 years

THT is 20 years old, has 2 NBA seasons, one NBA championship and just signed a 3 year/32 million contract. At 23 he might be getting a much bigget payoff if he continues to progress. I didn't see this coming.

You’re right. This article is what I was thinking of when I thought they had a small contract for summer league. In 2018 it was $1500 per player that teams could give in a lump sum or spread out.

I was under the impression that two-way deals could only be given to undrafted players, and a max of two two-way deals per team. A quick web search found some sites saying the same thing. I could not find an authoritative source.
