You need to be aware, as I think you are on track, to have fun with this then walk away. Sorry to pour cold water on this, but these contests (baby of the year, baker of the year, pet of the year, etc.) run by Colossal are a scam. There will eventually be a winner, yes, but that winner won't win for free. Don't let family give money to them. It isn't a charity.

I'm not going to dig around for the most recent one, but they use variations on a simple formula - everyone is a group finalist and they don't disclose how many groups there are. They often won't disclose the structure, either. For example, a "semifinalist" could mean you are five rounds away from winning, or they reopen rounds by inviting back high-earning second place finishers for a head-to-head challenge round. Plenty of competitions have manufactured competitors that will overtake you late.. you get the picture. If you aren't spending money, it's not that you won't win, it's that you can't be allowed to take up a spot that spenders would occupy.

Don't spend money. Don't be surprised or frustrated. Have fun and yeah.. she is worthy of a prize! Love the write-ups - you've always been a model fan and adult on here, so nobody should be surprised to see you rocking this!

Yep, I'm aware, and I've been telling folks to just vote for free, not give cash. It's just something fun to do with Sofia at the center.

If she wins, I should at least throw some bones Dan's way to give all of us some benefit. Or host a Papa Del's pregame for a basketball game. šŸ˜‚

Right now, the plan would be to upgrade my car to a 3-row SUV. With what I'm currently in, we can't take the three of us and the dogs anywhere in the same car, which is an issue since we're a road trip kind of family.
