IF
Tracy Abrams gets a 6th year
Mike Thorne gets a 6th year
Leron Black is still on the team in the Fall
Jaylon Tate is still on the team in the Fall
then
all scholarships for the 2016-2017 season are taken.

If any of the listed situations above does not happen, Groce and staff will most likely target a transfer. Who will they target?

One person who announced they are transferring is redshirt sophomore guard Cullen Neal. He has two years remaining and is eligible to play immediately.

Who else will transfer from their current school?

Can he get to the basket or hit the 10 footer?

Thorne isn't going to be back. They will pursue a 5th year big, at the very least.

I am sure they will pursue a fifth year big regardless, but JG has said they will seek a sixth year for Thorne.

My hope is that the NCAA powers that be at least take a look at his request . And yes I know the rules, but still don't just say no because he played a few minutes at In.diana

I wonder what's happening with Goodluck Okonoboh? I think he announced he was transferring about the same time as Elijah Thomas late last year; and he still doesn't have a destination. If it's not as weird as it sounds they should be throwing the kitchen sink at him.

I'm sure it's old news, but I was told Jimmy Whitt is transferring from Arkansas.

At this point they should be calling him.....

I'll spare you. ;)

I went to verbal commits and saw their list of transfers. Think there might be even more, but when I saw MLT's name, it made me wonder how good these guys are. So, I looked up a few of them. Not seeing a lot of prowess here so far. Patrick Steeves out of Harvard might be most interesting, as he has good assist #'s.

Player Name From
Dwayne Morgan UNLV, 6-8 Soph, played 15 m/g,
Malik Marquetti USC, 6-6 Soph, plays 5 m/g
Malik Martin USC, 6-11 Soph, plays 5 m/g
Darion Clark USC, 6-7 Jr, plays 8 m/g
Savon Goodman ASU, 6-6 Jr, plays almost 20 m/g, has some pretty good #'s
Austin Arians Milwaukee, 6-6 Jr, plays 33 m/g, has some good #'s in the HOrizon
Kanayo Obi-Rapu, Jr. Longwood, 6-3 Soph, plays 28 m/g, Big South conference
Patrick Steeves Harvard, 6-7 Sr., Grad student transfer? Plays 20 m/g, good assist #'s
Jon Severe Fordham, 602 Jr, plays 15-17 m/g, appears to be good defender with good steal #'s
Jimmy Paige Siena, played fewer minutes this year than last, 6-4 Soph Guard
Donovan Gilmore College of Charleston, saw minutes go down from 16 to 7 this year. 6-7 Soph
Jackson Davis Butler, 6-8 Soph F, 6 m/g
J.T. Escobar Ole Miss, 6-2 Fresh, 5 m/g, shot 32% and 60% from the line
Evan Maxwell Liberty, 6-10 Soph, 22 m/g, 10 p/g, 5 boards in the
Hansel Atencia Liberty, 5-10 Fresh, under 4 m/g,
Mike LaTulip Illinois, we know the story
Jordan Andrews Youngstown State, 6-5 Fresh, plays 20 m/g, made 48 3's at 37% clip.
Pierre' Hayden Hampton, listed as a grad asst., don't even know why he is on this list
Amir Smith Rice, 6-6 fresh, got 4 m/g on a bad team

I'm sure there is more that can be done with this, this is just the amount of time that I had.

Looks like it hasn't been announced but he is considering it. This article mentions Cal as one possible destination

The article also says he wasn't happy about his playing time despite averaging 17 mins a game as a freshman! Crazy.

Sounds like a kid that was told he'd have the keys from the first year and was disappointed when he found out he still had a learners permit.

The article also says that Arkansas is bringing in the #1 ranked Juco Pg & #1 ranked Juco SG in the nation next year, return their leading scorer (SG) and a former starting pg, plus bringing in a freshman guard. So he may be as much or more so bothered by how many minutes he expects to get next year.

The far left column is the star ranking the kids had coming out of high school. Many two stars on the list.
ps - Would like to know what the deal is with Lawrence of Manhattan. Kid was a 5 star on Rival and Scout.

Kids a lunatic. He was very entitled in high school attending a private school in Sparta, NJ after coming from Queens. Made him think being good at basketball could get him through any trouble he created, and it doesn't work like that. Think Jereme Richmond here.
