This one I don't get. By the time he's eligible, we'll have JCL, Jordan, DJW, Nichols as upper-classmen. Plus Pickett, Da'Monte, and likely one more Freshman wing.

What am I missing?

Maybe Groce doesn't feel so confident about the bolded part. I agree, it appears this transfer isn't needed.

You definitely need to be more careful with guys sitting out a year, but I wouldn't write them off entirely.

Can't stop recruiting - at any position. The moment you do and have a surprise, you are really in a hole you can't dig out of.

Hard to believe Hudson is a priority, but attrition, thinking Nichols is more of a 4, or not counting your future 2017 wings before there hatched are all reasons to keep recruiting. He is from Ohio as well, so maybe there is some prior relationship with Groce. On the other side contact isn't an offer, so we may well be in the due diligence phase.

I think this is really the answer. Groce has shown a preference for transfers that have high D1 experience, even if their ceiling isn't as high.

Can anyone post a rough timeline with key dates for the offseason "events" related to next year's roster?
1) decision on Thorne's redshirt
2) Jaylon Tate
3) Kendrick Nunn
4) Leron Black
5) Kipper's potential to be eligible first semester

Per Jeremy Werner, the goal is to have them all resolved by the end of this school year, but much of this is out of the staff's control.

What about the timeline of Abrams' 6th year? I know most people on this board our confident he will get a 6th year. When will there be a "official" announcement?

Also, add the timeline for JCL to be admitted to the College of Business. Trusted board posters stated he was certain to transfer if not admitted.:)

Updated Transfer List with school lists for a bunch of the top players — as well as revised Top 10 Availables:

10. Jalen Hudson, Virginia Tech Hokies
The sophomore wing nearly averaged double-figures last season despite only playing about 20 minutes per contest. He's getting plenty of interest from a bunch of high-majors.

What does everyone think of the 7 footer Andre Washington from Wake Forest. He is eligible to play immediately. Don't know much about him. I know he was a 3-star coming out of high school. I thought his size and the fact he is transferring from a power 5 school, he would be an interesting transfer.

Never seen him play, but not many people really have.

Has played a total of 416 minutes over 3 seasons at Wake Forest.

Think Kipper is more of a 3 in play and size, not really a stretch 4 IMHO. Believe he does better with ball in his hand vs catch and shoot. Like him as a back-up to Hill and eventual replacement when Hill graduates.

Haven't heard or seen much on the Wake Forest big, concern is that his minutes and production were low. Is he a guy who can provide 10 minutes/game? That might be enough.

Agreed. Hudson's class already has 5 players with JCL, Jordan, DJW, Finke, and Black. Why bring in a 6th unless he's an absolute stud or one of JCL/Jordan/DJW are leaving? But like another poster said, all we know is "contact" has been made. We'll see if it goes any further than that.

Wonder if the staff can get in on Anthony Livingston from Arkansas State. 6'8" 230lbs F that around 16 ppg and 10 rpg the last 2 years

Nunn is most likely gone and Thorne is 50/50 at best so that gives you two spots. Need to get in on these transfers just in case something happens.

IMO Thorne has about a 1 in 50 chance of getting a 6th year.

Agree that Nunn is most likely gone.

I'm thinking a minimum of two spots open up.
