I done jumped. As someone else said, I'm irrationally angry about that game. I could see it coming in the first half when they started trying to get cute instead of racking up points when they had the packers on the ropes. I knew when Rogers returned what would happen. Then only thing I didn't expect was for the bears to get the ball back with not one, but two chances thanks to the penalty.

There is too much talent on this team to collapse like that against a beatable team when they gave you a big lead. I've seen enough playing not to lose for the season. Not sure I'll watch another game. Yep that's way over the top, but it's where I'm at.
I get this sentiment, however, I had way too much fun watching the defense in the first half. I am looking for improvement. And yes, I am still pissed about the 3rd and 1, not running the ball off tackle, twice if necessary. Kicking the FG was stupid, and you can ask my dogs that were watching with me, I said it prior to the end result.

The pieces are there for this to be an elite team with a high caliber QB, but if you have a low caliber QB, absolutely nothing else matters and you have no chance to be an elite team. That's the NFL in 2018 and beyond.

I haven't given up on Trubisky by any means, but the deficiencies he was showing last night were not the type where "time" or "development" is the cure. You're a strike thrower or you're not. What's confusing about that to me is that in watching some of his UNC games, accuracy was the #1 thing that jumped off the screen.

So I don't know. QB play is one of the mysteries of the universe, and I'm certainly not the one who knows the secret. But the Bears are going nowhere if their QB's ability to hit the target stays like it's been for Trubisky through 13 career games.

Going off the last few comments on here, I am pissed about the 3rd and 1. Have to run the ball with Howard the way he had played in the second half. But no way can you go for it on 4th down in that situation. You take points and make a TD beat you.

And on Trubisky, please remember he had zero chance to develop under a garbage staff last season. When drafted everyone knew it would take some time to develop the tools he had. He is getting the development for the first time now.

The Bears ran the scripted stuff really well last night. Mitch looked good. Everyone looked good on Offense. They stumbled when they had to adjust and go on the fly. To me, that tells me they don't have a grasp on the playbook 1 game into it. I will be a lot more concerned if Mitch and company struggle post-bye week. They should have this thing much more in place and running smoothly by then.

You can't look at this first game as a positive development. They lost. The Bears can't strive for incremental improvement and then cash in another top 10 draft pick. That's completely off the table with the Mack trade. The Bears are trying to make the playoffs and losing games like last night's is what keeps you out of the playoffs.

Green Bay and Rogers went to a spread, quick snap, quick toss offense in the second half and picked the Bears secondary apart. No real shame in that. It's what Rogers does. It's why he's going to be in the Hall of Fame.

It's the offense that's was the problem. They didn't score a TD after the first possession. They couldn't throw the ball downfield. It didn't seem like they recognized until the last series of the game that GB was only rushing 3 or 4 and sending everyone else back in coverage. The rushing game went away for almost two quarters. The Bears receivers never made a play. They couldn't get open and they couldn't take the ball away from anyone. Turn one of those field goals into a touchdown, or even extend one of those drives for a couple more first downs, and the Bears win that game.

If I hadn't seen any of the first quarter and only watched the last three, I'd be saying the Bears were going to be 5-11 or 6-10 again. Having seen the first quarter, I really don't know. Were the Bears that good and then fell apart, or did GB come out flat and then wake up? Recent history would tend to support the latter conclusion.

I understand the thought, but I can't disagree more. Do not let Rodgers beat you because he will. How many times have we seen it? How many more times do we need to see it? If we were playing just about anyone else in the NFL, I kick the field goal on forth down. But we know what Aaron Rodgers does. We saw what he did all second half. The defense showed the coaching staff that it was not up to the task, but the coaches put them out their anyway. DO NOT LET AARON RODGERS BEAT YOU.

And when its all over, it wasn't even Rodgers that got us. It was a broken play that lets Cobb run 75 yards. Rodgers was great in the second half. But you have to make him get a TD to beat you.

I still believe 4th down doesn't happen and this discussion isn't needed if they hand the ball off to Howard on 3rd and 1. That to me is where the game was lost.

And when Fuller couldn't intercept a pass that hit him in the numbers.

Obviously a tale of two halves last night. There were two issues that I am equally concerned about after the game. The offense was disappointing. After the first two impressive drives it did virtually nothing the rest of the game. I looked at the game stats late last night so the figures might be updated, but once again they were held to less than 200 yards passing (175) and only had a net of 155. Very similar to last year and absolutely putrid. Teams throw for over 300 yards by accident anymore. Trubitsky's average per attempt was only around 4.5 yards. After the Packers started dropping 7-8 guys in coverage the Bears should have been pounding the ball with Howard and Cunningham. And as great as the defense was in the first half, it was just as bad in the second. Even with Rogers on one leg the pass rush was non-existent and the coverage was indescribably bad. Its really hard to say what type of team the Bears have. Even adding Mack I didn't think made them a playoff team. The way they blew this one makes it look like another bleak season ahead.

I really don't know why everybody is upset. I thought the game -- and the final result -- was delightful.

But then, I'm a Packers fan. You guys aren't? You really should be.

I'll always have a soft spot for the Bears because of Halas, Grange, and Butkus. But for the 2 weeks a year they face GB, their predictable failure puts a smile on my face.

Did you miss the part where Allison pushed off inside the 10 to get separation? Easy offensive pass interference that wasn't called.
I'm neither a Packer or Bear fan, just an Illini fan. Allison stuck his arm out and the defensive grabbed Allison's arm. Seems pretty standard stuff allowed these days. I thought it was a good no call. My point simply was it was good to see a former Illini finding a career in the NFL because that only helps us in our recruiting.

How can you not like him?

Because [fair or not] his play reminds me of Mark Sanchez.

And he's been picked off twice in the first half.

And almost a third time in the red zone. Pace gambled his job on trading up for that pick. Even the eternal optimist I am, watching the Bears play turns me into Eeyore. The only bright side is a few defensive players to get excited about.

I think I saw Smith make the first tackle in the game but nothing since. Also is Leonard Floyd playing? Haven't seen him.

Bears up 10-3 at half but probably should be up by more.

Mitch has to be better in the 2nd half for the Bears to win this one.

Mack and the D have been very impressive in the first half and need to keep that up.
