Tried Trout Slayer Wheat Ale the other day, and I have found my beer for the time being.
My wife brought me home some a week ago, good stuff!

Caution, it's got a Kick! But yeah, it is tasty.
I just spent some time in Mexico and have a newer Mexican beer to recommend. Pacifico, Bohemia, and the Modelo's have been what I typically drink, mostly because the other choices are subpar. I tried a newer Artisanal beer there called Patito. They have a Pilsner and a Belgian Blonde that are definitely a step in the right direction. So if you ever get down there give Patito a try. It wasn't available at a couple of the smaller towns I visited but was readily available elsewhere.

I'm heading to Chicago for the holidays. Any new spots pop up over last year or so that I should check out?
I'm definitely hitting Forbidden Root and some of the mainstays (Revolutions, 3F, etc.) but hoping there might be something new I'm not aware of.
I've been impressed with the offerings from http://www.buckledownbrewing.com/ recently. They are located not far from Midway Airport.
Anyone get their Bourbon County Stout this year? Actually found some yesterday in a store here in Houston. Probably could get a few more bottles at the same place this week.
I have. We only bought the regular (none of the barrel aged), and it's quite good.
We typically drink a couple the year it comes out, then let some age for a couple of years.
That is what I do as well. I have some from probably 2012 or so, waiting for delivery from Illinois to Texas (via my brother). They had it here and it didn't sell out for three weeks or so.
Awesome, and enjoy.
I just had a solid couple of days for beer. I went by Other Half in Brooklyn and picked up some solid IPAs and a stout, then drove to Chicago today, stopping by 3 Floyds.
Picked up two cases of Zombie Dust, some Blot Out The Suns (Imperial stout...amazing), and a Barrel Aged Alpha Klaus (extremely excited).
It's going to be a fun (and expensive) holiday for beers.
Out East I've been enjoying a few local beers and some national ones. For Xmas break I stocked up on Sierra Nevada Celebration, Lagunitas 12th of Never, and Caldera IPA (may pick up some Caldera Hopportunity Knocks as well). Local beers include Tröegs Blizzard of Hops, Two Roads Lil Heaven and a Jack's Abbey IPA
Big fan of Two Roads and Jack's Abbey.
Do you get Two Roads in the Midwest? Their brewery is about a mile from where I used to live
Also, just opened a Pioneer (Wolcott CT) American IPA...really good
Procured some yummy holiday treats this past week. Some Firestone Walker Velvet Merlin oatmeal stout and Wasatch Brewery's Polygamy Porter (great name, even better beer!). I highly recommend both of them.
