Prime Time Pizza was good, if that was the kind of pizza you wanted, that thin crust kind. I was probably my favorite pizza of that type anywhere, other than Paul's Pizza in Westchester, IL.

I ate LaBamba's sober on Taco Tuesday, this was a bad, bad, bad idea.

Was Paul's Pizza the joint in the strip mall, I think there is a Dominick's and a pet store?

Yessir!!!!

Used to be down the street, then they moved there. By Scott's Pet Shop.

Great Italian Beef too, if that's something you like.

My vote for best pizza is Prime Time.

Hall of Fame for Places to Never Eat While Sober:

1. La Bamba
2. Drew's (the new pizzeria on Green, I think it opened my senior year)

I think Drew's is closed, but it was so seductive leaving brothers at 2:00 am (5 bucks for a hot pizza). One world was in the same category.

My roommates and I were big fans of the stuffed Prime Time Pizza, especially since we only lived a few blocks away and we could save on delivery charges.

Huh? I've never even seen the Prime Time thin crust pizza. It's all deep dish. Maybe you have it confused with some other place?

I love the Heart Attack

This reminds me.. I love "The Stack" from Merry-Ann's. Just a classic 3AM meal.

I do! I think you and I must be about the same age. I loved Space Port.
What about Mabel's? I loved O'Malley's also -- I went there too often.

I remember eating at Vriner's once and seeing a very very large rat scurrying on the ground. I think an REO Speedwagon album has a picture of them in front of Vriner's.

There is stuffed pizza...which is "deep dish", Chicago style, Papa Del's, etc.

and their "thin crust" is the other type.

At least that's my interpretation of pizza varieties

Reo's second album I believe, the back cover was shot inside Vriners, later I worked there when it was a bar,(No Name Saloon) REO came in for a party before their concert at the Assembly Hall.
Mabels was disgusting but a great place to hear live bands, I went back a couple years ago (Now Brothers) and was shocked, you could actually see out the windows, your feet didnt stick to the floor, and the bathrooms were nice.

We used to go to Vriner's in December and watch them make their candycanes in the kitchen, my eyes would water the mintiness was so strong.

Yeah I saw a show or two at Mabel's and I remember everything in the place just about was painted black. Perhaps it was to cover up the nastiness better (make it less visible). :D

Is High Dive still there?

And what's the place on Campus, kind of near KAMS that has the concerts. I saw Nightrain, a Guns N' Roses cover band there in 2004.

Monical's was the king of the thin crust pizza. I wish they had one in the Chicago area.

Yes High Dive is still there. That was the place to be when it first opened about 10 years ago. Haven't been there in ages.

How about we kinda make this thread or possibly a new one kind of like our own food critic thread. Let's say you just went out and had a terrific meal, or sometimes more importantly a terrible one, and you wanted to talk about it, either by telling us to go or not to go. It could also be the place to talk about new restaurant openings. I'm not from champaign(I live about 45 minutes away) and I would find this thread extremely useful. There are just so many places to eat in chambana, that with me being an outsider, its a little overwhelming. A place that looks like a total dump on the outside might be a total gem on the inside. Anyway, just my thoughts!

I saw LBC, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and, believe it or not, Tiffany at the Canopy Club.
