Bowl Games

Is the big 12 winless in bowls right now? I told everyone they would get exposed in bowl games.

Big12 seems to always be over-rated in both major revenue sports, but Baylor did beat UNC. Nevertheless, you'll only hear the blowouts of Iowa and MSU referenced.

Those certainly do tarnish the conference. But, how different would it have been had Michigan been able to punt? OSU would have burried Iowa and probably gone on to play Clemson. Michigan would have put up a better fight against Stanford. Michigan State and Iowa would have then played Notre Dame and Florida.

Perhaps other conferences can point to similar circumstances.

Just off seeing final scores the last so many days, the ACC hasnt done well either. CLemson won but against a big 12 team lol Baylor beat an ACC team lol At least the B1G is floating around .500 for the bowl season. The SEC is performing but I agree that there has been some favorable match ups. It definitely should have been tOSU. Iowa was the luckiest team this year. And Nw???????

I seem to recall hearing about some sort of contractual agreement the Rose Bowl has, perhaps to the time slot on NYD? I thought another bowl also gas this agreement?

If they move semi finals sandwiched around Rose Bowl, it would kill those bowls, Sugar Bowl (BCS) being one of them.

IMO it would have been better to play today, despite competition from the NFL. Better yet, the NFL can keep their Sunday games.

I believe both the Rose and Sugar are hell bent on keeping their NYD slot (except for the rare occasion that 1/1 falls on Sunday, when NFL gets that stage and Rose and Sugar move to 1/2).

As it stands, next season the CFP semis will be held on Sat 12/31 at Peach and Fiesta (plus Orange), NFL will reign supreme on Sun 1/1, and Rose and Sugar (and Cotton) on Mon 1/2

So the question that I need answered is, did those two teams make it to a bowl game and then have to stay at a motel 6?

TCU and Oregon played in the Valero Alamo Bowl. The Cactus Bowl was sponsored by Motel 6 and included Arizona State and West Virginia. Arizona State would not have needed to stay in a hotel/motel because the game was in Phoenix and Motel 6 would have been the standard or even an upgrade for West Virginia. :)
