I am hoping for chaos. I really want the committee to go with the 3 undefeated power 5 teams and the team that beat the SEC Champ. It's a body of work and the undefeated power 5 teams earned it.

Michigan
Washington
Florida State
Texas

Snub the SEC and watch those rednecks go crazy.

You mean Texas over Alabama right? Get rid of the SEC bias and say that the games played matter.
I suspect Texas will get hosed. Part of their buy-in fee to join the SEC. After all, how much can they complain about SEC bias when they just jilted the Big 12 to jump to the SEC?

Not OP but....

There's 3 teams that can be argued for the fourth spot(I think FSU should be in over any 1 loss conf champ, regardless of who is their QB).

I say Alabama beating UGA is a better win than Texas beating Alabama, while Bama losing to Texas is less bad than Texas losing to OU.

I could live with either, as long as the last time in is not Georgia, whose schedule wasn't that rough until the SEC Champ.

CFP has to be:

1 - Michigan
2 - Washington
3 - Florida State
4 - Alabama

They won't want Michigan and Alabama meeting in the semi-final, so they will jump Washington over Michigan based on strength of schedule.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with any of this, but I just objectively think Washington should be the #1 team for a while now. That whole team has ice in their veins and played a tough schedule including 2-0 against the same top 10 team(Oregon obv).

I get where you are coming from, but it is almost like a tiebreaker to me. The head to head win for Texas over Bama has to mean something, especially since Texas won at Bama. It was a 10 point win, but it felt like a dominating victory for Texas.

I also still can't get over how sloppy Alabama looked against Auburn. They really should have two losses, without the miracle 30 yard td play. In addition, Texas looked absolutely dominant yesterday. I see no way Bama jumps Texas in ranking.

Objectively, the SEC should get shut out of playoff. The only way Bama gets in is if the committee decides to drop FSU. I think this ultimately happens, even though I am adamantly against that development.

How I think the order should be:

1) Michigan
2) Washington
3) FSU
4) Texas
5) Bama
6) Georgia

How I think committee decides:
1) Michigan
2) Washington
3) Texas
4) Bama
5) FSU
6) Georgia

Tired of SEC chant. Drop the bombshell in South. Body of work suggests:

1 - Michigan
2 - Washington
3 - Texas
4 - Florida State

To be honest thought Bama before FSU is justifiable if you look at schedule....

So, A beats B, B beats C, but B beating C is greater than A beating B?

In the context of top 25 rankings, makes a lot of sense imo.
Maybe, but I’m not buying it. We have, in a rare occurrence, an actual game played between two out of conference teams vying for a spot in the playoffs where one of the teams literally beat the other. I’m not saying Texas is in, but what I am saying is that Alabama getting in over Texas is an absolute SEC bias move. You can’t claim “best conference” then lose to the winner of another conference and claim “we’re still better”.

That literally makes no sense.

Now, if the committee wants to come out and claim it is what it is (just a money grab), then fine, put Alabama in. Otherwise, they would be extremely hypocritical.

Everyone is acting like this is such a tough decision for the committee. Honestly, Alabama did the committee a favor (while doing the SEC a disservice) by winning yesterday. It’s an easy selection:
#1 Michigan
#2 Washington
#3 FSU
#4 Texas
(would have been hard for them to decide what to do with Texas otherwise)

Anything besides that only gets tough for the committee because they need to create an excuse as to why they forced an SEC team in.
