If I look at from a destination and ignore the prestige/match-up possibilites, I would like to go to Nashville. The weather in Tampa around New Year is not a draw for me. Nashville would be fun and I think would have the biggest Illini crowd. But, I haven't really tried to analyze the demographics of the fan base. What do others think? Where's @Fighter of the Nightman ?
My wife had an internship in Nashville during college and it's only a ~5.5 hr. drive from CU, so it might be a good draw for many Illini fans in the Midwest and Southeast.

If we do play in the Music City Bowl, hopefully it would be against Mizzou.

I speculate NO and NO. We'll get a pretty good look at some of next season's prospective starters.
agree

I don’t expect any of our expected round 1-6 players to suit up for a bowl game . it’s simply not in their best interests.

I get it . I don’t like it , but I get it .

Would Luke play if we are in a bowl game. Same with Jacas.

Jacas no. But I definitely think Luke would play. He’s not a 1st rounder and can def up his stock for the NFL draft. Plus the risk of injury for QB playing in bowl game is a lot less than other players.

I think the Music City Bowl would be great. Nashville is way more fun even in December than Tampa.

Look might be a 7th round draft pick. He has no reason to play. Gabe definitely should sit out

I think Luke will not only play in the bowl game but I’d be shocked if he’s not one of the QBs in the Senior Bowl too. He def fits the criteria of a QB trying to move up in the draft and using that game to do it. I definitely think he gets drafted given his accuracy and legs. I think he’s better than Devito and Devito got a chance

I agree with @therealmiket86

I can't see a scenario where Jacas plays. I'm assuming Altmyer plays because he is a fringe draft pick right now, has opportunities to gain from playing, and the rest of the offense likely plays in the bowl game.

Sign me up for 9-3 and a New Year's Eve date with an SEC team in the ReliaQuest Bowl. If you can't make the playoff you want the best bowl game possible and this is it with us being in the Citrus last year. Also that day has a playoff game at night so it's fun to be the one of the lead-ins on a big cfb day.

Assuming we get to 9-3 as expected, I agree 100% with you. This is my also my projection (provided we don't sneak into the CFP with a rash of upsets occurring over the coming month.)

The first interim CFB Playoff rankings coming up now on ESPN

Was thinking this is where we'll be discussing the CFP release. Great! I've (very optimistically) predicted that we'll get some votes. If I read the Committee's mission correctly, up to 30 teams can be voted upon, with the top 25 appearing in the weekly release.

I had projected USC, Washington and Iowa between 15-20......all trailing Vandy. Thought we'd be considered at that next tier down AFTER #20...........ahead of all the Group of Five schools and most of the ACC teams as well.

Soooooooooooooooooo many of these teams are going to lose at least 1 game over the next 4 weeks.

I'm thinking we were probably like #26 or 27. We'll very likely be in the ranking by the time we play Maryland.

Wow no G5 teams in the top 25.
