Saw Thor: Love and Thunder yesterday. Thought it was a perfectly fine movie. Not a great movie but not terrible either.

One question I do have after seeing this though. Does Marvel have any sort of, no pun intended, endgame for Phase 4? It seems like they're kind of just spinning their wheels right now a little bit.

Haven't seen this one yet, but I had the same question after Multiverse of Madness.

I kind of thought they were going to build up Scarlet Witch as the Big Bad, which I think would have been great, but clearly that's not the plan!

One theory I've heard is that they may build up Kang to be the big baddie when he is introduced in the Ant-Man and the Wasp sequel thats due out early next year.

The new Thor was light-years better than the new Doctor Strange, in my amateur opinion.

Was it just me or does the Black Adam trailer look really good?

Really hopeful to see Nope. I’m still fighting my schedule to see Top Gun 🤦🏻‍♂️
Black Adam does look good. Same with Shazam! (I really enjoyed the first).

I know it's blown up the box office and literally everyone I know who has seen it said it was such a thrill, but I have no interest in seeing Top Gun. I'm a product of 1990, so I missed the original in 1986, which resulted in a very "meh" feeling for me when I saw it as an adult.

Hope this the right thread for my post.........
I just watched the 1st episode of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON and I really enjoyed it......lots of action and blood and ,of course , nudity....Time will tell if it's GOT worthy but a great 1st episode is a very good start

It really really is.......JMHO

Wasn't sure if I should put this in the Music or Movies thread, but I picked up a soundtrack LP to my favorite horror film, The Babadook, this past weekend at Agharta Records in St. Paul, MN. The gatefold has a pop-up graphic much like the book in the film. One of the coolest vinyl jackets in my collection.

Here are some images on Discogs if anyone is interested: https://www.discogs.com/release/11250974-Jed-Kurzel-The-Babadook/image/SW1hZ2U6MzE3ODE1ODk=

I bought a Bose soundbar yesterday for $ 229.99 + tax and hooked it up after I got home ......the first show I watched was " House of the Dragon " ,
episode # 2 .....The first scene was what happened in episode # 1 and it was the Dragon being ushered into his cave........

The sounds of that new soundbar was so realistic that I started looking around for that friggin dragon in my bedroom .....Now , I had a good buzz , but this soundbar brought out sounds that made me shake my head and I'm so glad i bought this as i will be watching shows again to just experience them in this new uplifting sound......

For those of you who have Regal Cinemas in your area, they will be screening all of this year's Best Picture Oscar nominees between now and next Sunday's Oscars ceremony. Tickets for each of the films will only be $6 with some of the films having multiple screenings a day while others will either only have a single matinee or evening showing.

Did anyone else watch "All Quiet on the Western Front"?
I love war movies and this one is doing it for me. I do have to finish, but ill probably just restart and watch again. It is intense and had my anxiety rolling.

Admittedly I'm on the other end of the spectrum for enjoying war films. I work with veterans from time to time in my career (psychologist) and I can't stomach too many viewings per year. However, I always watch those that are Oscar-nomimated. This film was absolutely gutwrenching. It captured the innocence of humanity (of essentially a child) that is lost as a cost of experiencing/witnessing such horrors in a tangible manner that didn't pull punches.

I love these types of movies and programs, because my biggest regret in life is not serving. Not that I clamor to be on the front lines, but I think anytime we can get an account as intense as this we as a society would not want to repeat it.

I do think the soundtrack behind this movie did not help my anxiety. Interesting choice of it and it is impactful.

You've got a few right already! I went to see the live action shorts yesterday and was really impressed with An Irish Goodbye. It literally could have been stretched to a feature but played so well as a short.

And is it just me, but was introducing a commercial for a Disney movie from the Oscar's stage kind of crass?
