Just looked it up. The service academy athletes can transfer to any other school without an obligation to military service but they have to do it by the end of their sophomore year. Udoh, Army's 2nd leading rusher, just finished his sophomore year. They also had a freshman running back that entered the portal shortly after it opened a few weeks ago.I thought I heard announcer say the 2nd leading rusher for Army hit the transfer portal for AZ.St. didn't know the Service allowed that. How do you just leave the Military? Anyone know if same rules apply under NCAA.
loathsome defenseapparently Colorado players wear L and D patches on their jerseys for "leader" and "dawg". coach prime needs to wear a D for "dogwalked" patch tonight
Legit forgot those.Nutty Buddy for the win

Nice. One of my golfing buddies is an Air Force grad. Another is an Army 2 Star General. Both very humble and now retired. I feel humbled being surrounded by greatness.I went to Air Force so not sure how Army does it (probably similar) but we didn’t actually commit to the military until we stepped into our first class, fall semester of our junior year.
So if a player is a freshman or sophomore, they could leave with no repercussions as long as they hadn’t passed that “commitment milestone”. (whatever/whenever that is for Army)
You are correct! This is how it’s done at all military schools. Once junior year starts, it’s commitment time.I went to Air Force so not sure how Army does it (probably similar) but we didn’t actually commit to the military until we stepped into our first class, fall semester of our junior year.

I honestly sometimes feel bad for SEC fans that have to watch ESPN so much. Even if the network is slobbering all over your conference, it’s still just a bad network all around.ESPN is owned by ABC who is owned by Disney.
They were all once good organizations , but that was years ago.
They have all morphed into corrupt and actually evil companies, with zero regards for truth or fairness .
What do the Texas and Penn State say about this? They both hosted home games and won easily. Is that better or worse than having 3 1/2 weeks off with a bye?
Sorry, but if you're an Illini fan from the Quad Cities area, its impossible to root for the hated Hawkeyes, even when its MiznozIowa vs Miznoz in the Music City Bowl

Go Hawkeyes - Beat the snot out of Miznoz
Go B1G
I would think they wouldn’t want to draw attention to all those empty seats. This may be the most disturbingly delicious new tradition in college sports. Looking forward to Cinnamon Roll’s ghostly support during next year’s gruesome ritual.

I am guessing that Texas and PSU are pretty happy with the results. Oregon, on the other hand, has what appears to be a tougher road. There is no way for everyone to be happy, and one never knows. ASU and BSU could pop up and beat Texas and PSU. I think it would be better to watch the whole thing playout, prior to making any judgements. What do the Texas and Penn State say about this? However if you're a fan from the Metro East area (St. Louis), the exact opposite is true.Sorry, but if you're an Illini fan from the Quad Cities area, its impossible to root for the hated Hawkeyes, even when its Miznoz
Definitely understand how the part of state you are from affects this, but I'm going to pick rooting against Iowa. The Nick Bell game from 1991 will always make this true for me, and of course Bruce Pearl from the same era. However if you're a fan from the Metro East area (St. Louis), the exact opposite is true.
