Already 2 missed targeting penalties on Miami. Indianas big tight is so big and strong it went unnoticed on his catch. The one on Mendoza not being called was absolutely terrible.

Officials demonstrating that they aren't ready for the limelight of this game right there. Ridiculous no call.
Their 3 get home, ours don't. Being able to drop 8 in coverage because you know your defensive line is going to get pressure without blitzing or doing anything exotic is a HUGE advantage. Their corners don't have time to be beat and if they are, they have help. Ultimately, talent matters, I don't care what scheme you draw up.
IU need to stop calling slow developing running plays that require their O-linemen to hold their blocks for like 5 seconds. This Miami D is too talented for that nonsense.

Miami defenders yapping at each other must be music to the ears of the IU sideline. Not a good look for the canes.
Massive lane indiscipline by the Miami D line and backers on that first down run. Miami sure is talented, but they don't seem as cohesive as they should be or as well coached.

The backs were running straight ahead in the beginning and getting stuffed. They learned to delay and pick the hole and it worked.
IU have run more than twice as many plays as the canes.
Fun fact: I went to school and played bball with IU’s qb coordinator/co OC during 8-10th grade before he transferred to Downers Grove South for football. He actually committed to Illinois and played there for a year out of high school but never touched the field
