Oh man. Things just not going right at all for Miami. Doinked FG attempt from what should have been pretty makeable range.

Why not take a TO?
I think they feel that Miami have a really talented defense, and they're worried about the consequences of a mistake made during the hurry-up. I agree with you though. They were moving it on the previous drive. Why not push for more points when you have that chance against a talented Miami team who could easily come back into the game in the second half?

Fun fact: I went to school and played bball with IU’s qb coordinator/co OC during 8-10th grade before he transferred to Downers Grove South for football. He actually committed to Illinois and played there for a year out of high school but never touched the field

Chandler Whitmer
I remember being excited about getting him, as, if I remember correctly, he was a 4-star recruit and we weren't exactly snatching those up left and right. And then...nothing. 🤷

I think this is exactly right… Cignetti is gonna make miami prove they can beat Indiana. Not gift them anything.

Have a sense Cignetti will have a good drive cooked up out of half. If they get 7 u can start warming up the busses and it might get bad ugly.

But the head scratcher is the pass and timeout right after bleeding the clock. It would have saved 15 seconds and they could have tried to get in fg range with little risk.

Cignetti was upset with his coach for something. Not sure it was this.

IU stubbornly running into this packed in safeties of Miami. Then they throw it and their receiver drops a first down. Yikes. Momentum really shifting to the Canes.

Bad time for that drop. Can the defense respond?

That long run they gave up last series looked like a bad formation for that run call.

Correct. Had a very sub par college career. Went to juco then went to UConn for a couple years and started but the weren’t good at all.

He’s been on the fast track as a coach though, he’s bounced around high major college programs and the Chargers and Falcons
