You give up a second rond pick AND a fourth rounder just to get a second round pick? I get they didn't have a third round pick, but trades like this one show why.

Miller better be awesome, not just serviceable

The trading chart really discounts the next year's picks. Next year's 2 is like a this year's 4. However, I do notice that NE does not seem to really think that way, since they always seem to trade for next year's picks. I think it has worked out ok for them.

Yeah, most things work out well when you have the best coach and QB possibly ever. Let’s see how things work out once TB and/or BB retires.

I don't think this is a new logo they are working in. I think it was part of the comic book style video they used to release the schedule. That is my hope anyway.

Unfortunately it seems you may be wrong. They just changed their Facebook logo to the fang logo and have been using it in Facebook post graphics on the draft. Check the post where they changed it. Fans don't seem to like it very much.

Here are the top comments on the new logo.

Good lord that's bad. Is it meant to be an "M" for "Monsters of the Midway"?

The Bears have as good of a visual identity as there is in sports. It's very McCaskey of them to try and find a way to screw that up.

Seriously. It's like when CocaCola got rid of their classic formula and cam up with "New Coke" back in the 80s. Hopefully this doesn't even last as long as that did.

Hold onto your butts. They just put up this cover photo with the logo on the jerseys. Could be just a comic book promotional thing jumping on the Avengers hype. Hopefully.

I'm still going with its tied to the schedule release and vivid seats video. Way to many things that make me say this logo isn't legit.
1. It's brutal
2. New logos or uniforms are put out with gear to sell. If this logo was being used, you could get it on a t-shirt for $29.99 right now. It would have been all over the draft trying to market it as well.

Pick #224: Javon Wims, WR, Georgia

And that ends the Bears 2018 draft.

Thoughts?

I really don't understand why they want to move Daniels to guard and keep Whitehair at center. Daniels is obviously a good center and Whitehair's natural position is guard. Why do they keep moving guys around?

Huge surprise here-Bears decline $13.9 mil. fifth-year option on Kevin White.

Biggest 1st round bust in Bears’ draft history? If you go by Pro Football Reference’s Career AV rankings, he’s the worst since the 1950s, when scouting wasn’t what it is now and the NFL was paying so little some college graduates just took regular jobs instead of continuing to get their heads beat in for pocket change.

Still, that a pretty remarkable feat for White considering his “competition” includes the likes of Cade McNown and Stan Thomas.

Though it doesn't technically count, the biggest 1st round bust in Bears history has to be when they traded the 11th overall pick for the already demonstrably terrible Rick Mirer.

Curtis Enis was another horrible one. Man the Bears can be frustrating.

That's the pick that still irks the hell out of me to this day. By drafting Enis at I believe #6 overall the Bears passed on players like Grant Wistrom, Fred Taylor, and the man I wanted them to pick, Tra Thomas who went to the Eagles at #11. Thomas only went on to be a three or four time pro-bowl tackle that played for like ten or eleven years and is on the Eagle's 75th anniversary team. Enis rushed for about 1400 yards in his career.

Or how about the two number one's they sent with a no. three and Kyle Orton for Cutler? God this is just pissing me off the more we talk about it.

In no particular order of suckatude: Shea McClellin, Cedric Benson, Michael Haynes, and David Terrell. Sure Im forgetting some random O/D linemen, but those stick out via recency. Benson looked the part for a few games, but the rest barely flashed competency.

Benson I believe had a couple 1,000+ yard rushing seasons AFTER he left the Bears.

I don't like calling a guy a bust when he never really had a chance to show his talent. Comparing White to a guy like Shea McClellan or McNown just isn't fair. Sometimes it just doesn't work out.

I can't wait to see what this offense looks like. We got Robinson, some are comparing Anthony Miller to AB84, Shaheen could make a big jump, Nagy has the creativity to put Cohen all over the field, and of course we still have Jordan Howard.

If the defense is Top 10, the offense Top half, it could be a fun season.

I’m interested to see how they vary offensive looks. Like, Jordan Howard’s strength is strong running and not pass catching, and you always wanna put people in position to maximize strengths and hide weaknesses. But how are you gonna scheme so it’s not obvious that every time Jordan Howard lines up it’s an inside zone run? How are you gonna scheme for Cohen that everytime he’s in the backfield it’s not an obvious outside run or swing/screen pass?

Varying the looks so defenses can’t key on one obvious thing is something bears have been sorely missing for maybe my entire life. We got a chance now, I think. We need to capitalize.
