I largely stay out of this thread because I know what I’d type. And you can say how good Detroit is, and you’d be right.

But this Bears team is hot garbage. And, at least today, has completely given up.

Brad Biggs this morning said the Bears are 22-51 in division games since 2013. It was interesting listening to Olin Kreutz in the postgame last night, he basically said their are such systemic problems in the Bears organization, this is a much bigger task for Ben Johnson than a lot of people realize (paraphrasing). I know I have no patience left.

I think this really is the issue, if you’ve never worked somewhere with major systemic issues, it’s impossible to understand the impact they can have on every aspect of the organization.

And if you bring people in to make changes, it’s always 100x harder than it should be. I’ve been there a couple times in my career (in business, not football) and it’s crazy how tough it can be and how those embedded in the organization can make things harder, even if they claim to want things to change.

I’ll never go to anywhere with embedded systemic issues again.

Was there any coordination between Poles and Johnson for the draft? Your #10 overall pick is invisible, and you have second and third round picks inactive. Wtf is going on

Nothing has changed with this organization. Same crap over and over again. Caleb's leash might be shorter than that of Fields'.

Call me a crazy wide-eyed optimist but I truly believe that the Bears will work on some things, improve and come on strong to go 3-14.
Then all the naysayers that complained about Warren extending his boy Poles will have to eat crow.
Monsters of the Midway!!!!

I guess I was expecting too much of Johnson out of the gate, but listening to his talk with Thayer and Joniack after the game didn’t fill me with much hope. Very milquetoast.

This team will be in crisis as long as Poles is making the roster decisions. Why he got an extension is beyond me.
Honestly it doesn’t really matter who the GM is. As others have said, the organization is so dysfunctional it doesn’t matter who is in what role. If we brought in a new GM now he won’t be invested in the head coach or QB, and maybe not even the president depending how much the McKaskeys stick their noses into the hiring process. GM will draft who he thinks gives him the best chance of keeping his job, which likely won’t be a fit with what the head coach wants to run. So head coach will be unsuccessful because he doesn’t have the personnel he needs to succeed, will be on the hot seat because of losing. They bring in a new coach but then need to revamp the personnel to fit what the new coach wants, which may or may not align philosophically with the GM. And so on. And so on.

Part of me thinks Ben wanted roster control and knew with Poles around he was going to be the most powerful guy in the building so he said he anted to work with him then I remembered we drafted a swing tackle from Poles alma mater and the theory went out the window
