Disappointing end to an overall well played game by the Hawks. Gotta score more than one, though.

Just realized last night that the Blackhawk games are on the NHL Center Ice free preview from October 4 to October 18. Watched the game last night. You can watch the feed of either team that is playing. Maybe by the 18th Chicago Sports and Comcast can reach a deal.

I can't tell if it's the players or Richardson's system but the offense is atrocious
Part of it is not having goal scorers on the team other than Bedard. Teams can key on him until someone else shows they can be a consistent threat.

For those wanting to know the channels Chicago Sports Network will be (eventually in some cases) available on, this link on their website should help: https://chsn.com/info/

It's worth noting that Comcast/Xfinity and CHSN are currently in a carriage dispute as Comcast wants the channel on the same premium tier that Bally Sports Midwest got put on after their carriage dispute ended earlier this summer.

5 goals, 3 on the power play last night. Team looking much better.

Ultimately, with wired cable subscriptions declining so rapidly, basic tier versus premium tier isn't the make-or-break financial question it used to be.

The other sneaky thing no one talks about is every single one of these "record-setting" national TV deals for the leagues dedicate more and more games to the national package, meaning fewer and fewer for the local deals. Robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I'd disagree to a certain extent. When Bally Sports Midwest came back on Xfinity, I looked into see how much more of a cost there would be to move up to the premium tier. I would have had to pay about $40/month more than what I'm paying now and have a new cable box put in. Definitely not affordable for me at this point.

Oh, sorry if I was unclear, I mean it's not the titanic financial matter it used to be FOR THE TEAMS.

In 2008 or whatever, being on basic cable in the Chicago market versus being on a little-subscribed sports premium tier was a matter of hundreds of thousands of subscriber fees coming in every month.

That spread gets smaller every year. It's still significant though.

The economics of having the local media market able to watch the local team's game (which built the American sports empire) is totally collapsing.

Yeah. I'm just thankful I have a way to watch Blues games for the time being. There's a lot that that the NHL can be criticized for but the deal with ESPN has made the games a lot more accessible than they were in years past.

Chicago Sports made NHL Center Ice block the Hawk game last night on their free preview. Chicago Sports not starting off well. Oh well, what do you expect? They're partially owned by Reinsdorf.

Went to the Hawks / Stars game tonight in Dallas. Haven’t really watched much of the Hawks the past couple of years, but definitely does not feel like they are playing with the effort that I remember from past teams? I understand Dallas may have better talent, but effort doesn’t take talent.

Hey CHSN is on Fubo TV now! (Caught the last like 15 seconds of tonights game after stumbling upon it scrolling through football)

I've had it for a couple years now, I recommend it.

Pretty much every game has been at least somewhat competitive, yet we're 2nd worst in the league. Just like Kyle planned it.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'mma watch some Martone highlights on Youtube.

Congrats Blackhawks on being the worst team in the league again.
Unless they figure out how to score (pretty sure they won't with this group) they will be picking top three again. All of their free agent signings have been average to poor. I would hope they didn't do that on purpose but who knows?

total rebuilds take a long time. if we get Martone or Misa, that will help a LOT. meanwhile, Nazar is tearing it up in Rockford. and Dach and Slaggert are making cases too. our prospect pool isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn good

Davidson said in the post season press conference that this type of result is no longer acceptable. There’s no way they expected to still be this bad at this point. If the results don’t improve significantly Richardson won’t be back next season, his contract will be up anyway. If it keeps going like this he might even be canned during the season.
