Draft pick update for first two rounds...
2025 - Chicago 1st, Toronto 1st, Chicago 2nd, Dallas 2nd
2026 - Chicago 1st, Florida 1st, Chicago 2nd, Toronto 2nd, New York Islanders 2nd
2027 - Chicago 1st, Chicago 2nd, Vancouver 2nd

To go with...
2024 - 3 first round picks in Levshuniv, Boisvert, Vanacker
2023 - 2 first round picks in Bedard, Moore
2022 - 3 first round picks in Korchinski, Nazar, Rinzel

the FL 1st we got for Jones could slide to 2027. that would be great, IMO. much higher chance of them falling substantially.

Knight is a key pickup. Knight/Soderblom could very well be the answer for a bunch of seasons

2025 draft: Misa, please!

rebuild starting to enter new phase. am so ready for it

It has to enter a new phase. Fans (and probably Bedard) will revolt if they finish in the bottom 2 next year.

I hear you. there's a lot of frustration. but rebuilds take a long time. putting prospects in way over their heads can backfire bigly

fortunately, we're now finally getting to the point where the kids are ready/coming at a fairly steady rate

Yep, agreed. I think an acceptable finish next year would be between 5-10.

If they get the first pick, do you pick the defenseman?

I think so. BPA always. Schaefer makes Korchinski quite a valuable chip for a top young forward. I'd definitely discuss with Bedard first though.

FWLIW, I saw a ranking the other day that had Misa first, so BPA may be in the eye of the beholder. Either way, I look forward to reading draft previews and making my own uninformed judgements.

It would be lovely if this turns out to be the case, but I think it's overly optimistic. I feel like we're several years away from being the Senators. The Ducks are like two years ahead of us. That's not even considering the division, where there's no clear path to the playoffs anytime soon.

No worries. A little red KoolAid is all we need.

great trade, for sure, but I'm pretty dubious that our rebuild timetable is "jump started" as a result. we're gonna be pretty bad again next season. not as bad, but bad. thing is, we're going to be playing more and more kids. hopefully, a core will start to form

Bedard had a great game, too.
