Rick Tocchet available although I’d guess he’d go back to Philly?

if Davidson can't get a guy he loves, he should stick with Sorenson until one of those guys is ready. a de-facto interim is far better than a reach, IMO. Hawks aren't going to sniff the POs next season

This might be the case. However if the guy he loves is Carle and he's not interested, someone who's B or C choice is still better than Sorenson, regardless of their playoff status for next year. I'd assume that the next coach will have a 3-5 year contract and they better be contending by year 3 of that contract.

I still love radio. Local NPR station, music, programs - not news.

And Deon and Brian. I met Deon in Rockford two, three years ago. Boy, is he tall or what? Very nice guy.

Question: are the Blackhawks on cable tv yet? Ignoramus me. Thanks.

I don't think so. Over the air only but I'd defer to the locals on this.

FWLIW, I like Blashill and think he's a good hire. yeah, he's not needle mover. but who is (that's available)? and for those who point to Blashill's first NHL stint, how do you feel about Paul Maurice?

What do you like about Blashill?

What do you like about Blashill?

Cooper hired him for a reason. It's not as if his candidate pool wasn't huge. Hagel and Cooper gave Blashill ringing endorsements

Moreover, Blashill has won everywhere (international & AHL) besides Detroit. and the Red Wings basically had a dog crap roster.

between Detroit and TB, Blashill has been in the NHL for a decade.

is it a slam dunk? nope. but who's a better candidate? bottom line: cautiously optimistic

Not sure who’s the best candidate. I’d say no one outside of maybe Carle.

One thing’s for sure: if Blashill gets fired, Davidson will be joining him out the door.

Carle said no. He was KD's top choice (along with Sullivan)

Yep, my point was that outside of Carle, none of the realistic candidates stood out from each other. You weren’t going to get Sullivan or Tocchet.

I’m neutral on the Blashill hiring, for full disclosure. Hope he gets a better roster to work with.
