Chicago Blackhawks 2025-2026

they were saying that about us a short time ago (Bedard)

yeah, Toronto moving up to #1 sucks...oh, well

WRT, #4 OA, it's gonna be very interesting. if the top 3 forwards are gone (not a guarantee), it'll be disappointing, but thank God there are some pretty elite D in the pool this time
How much did they move up then?

not as much as the Leafs. but had they not lucked out, Bedard would have been off the board
No doubt but it's not as much of a stretch to move up 2 as compared to 4. Or 10 like the Islanders did last year. But yeah, any team that moves up will hear "it's fixed" from opposing fans. I think we heard less of that last year because it was the Islanders. Had it been the Rangers that moved up 10 spots to #1, would have been an uproar.

Caleb Malhotra looks like he'd be a nice consolation prize if he were available at #4. From his highlight videos. Center, 6'2", smart.

That's the pick I'd take, assuming Vancouver doesn't take him at 3. Also under consideration should be trading #4 for either Rob Thomas or Jason Robertson. Or Knies of Tronno where they'd have #1 and #4. Of course, would take more but they'd have to consider it for each of those players.

I always find the whole “fix is in” talk for any league a bit ridiculous. What owners are going to be fine with getting a worse spot in the draft, hurting their team and, more importantly, the value of their team? That would mean it has to be orchestrated solely by the league office. And what commissioner is going to risk being fired from his well paying, pretty cushy job to do something like that?
