I don't necessarily mind gut feelings with Mason West and other guys you're moving into the low end of the first round for, but you better be damn sure that your gut is right when giving up what he gave up for Byram and then paying him what he did.
I heard something about Kaner being a FA, and maybe the Hawks would sign him.

There is some talk of that but I'm sure at this point Kane would want a crack at another cup. The Hawks will be near the top of the lottery again unless Davidson makes a move to get another scoring threat.
I don't follow too closely, but I get a sense the Hawks could start their breakout next year.
If Kaner can't get a seat with a contender, maybe a last ride with the Hawks as a mentor, and alongside Bedard, might be fun?

I could have seen it happening that Kane would be brought back. With Bedard out until November, the likelihood of the Hawks making the playoffs is slim to none. Kane may have come to team up with Bedard but seeing as how he won't be back until November, unlikely in my book. But stranger things have happened...I don't follow too closely, but I get a sense the Hawks could start their breakout next year.
