I just can’t understand how people continue to spend the time , money & effort to attend the games .

Believe it or not, second round picks do have value. You’re right that most don’t pan out and very unlikely you’re going to find a star, but a handful a year become solid rotation players.

Beyond a player that you draft though, they have value as trade capital. Taking the Bulls trades out of the equation, 9 of the 14 other trades made at the deadline so far have included at least one second round pick. If we use more than a couple of the second rounders we just got in trades to actually draft players than AK isn’t doing his job right. Then again, who actually believes he has any idea what he is doing.

AK has shown no great ability at drafting, no great ability at trades and has no idea the value of the Bulls assets or other teams assets. Now because he a good decision with the Caruso trade to get Giddey, it looks like he thinks he’s found a cheat code. Finding good players who have been underutilized on contenders should certainly be part of his strategy, but it shouldn’t be his whole strategy. But when you hold on to players too long and drain their value so you can’t get any first rounders in return, I guess that’s all there is left. Despite what Gritty has said, first rounders matter. Sure some might be so far out as to not help immediately or even soon, they can also be capital for future trades.

Successful GMs who are playing “chess” understand their whole portfolio of assets and have a plan. Mr Checkers doesn’t seem to have either. So now the Bulls are pretty much in total rebuild (at least a couple of years later than they should be) with the guy who got them to this point still in charge. Well at least we now have the Timberwolves to root for this season.
They should have packaged their 14 second rounders for Zion

No reason to read this thread anymore, back to the cottage cheese

Benny The Bull was traded today to the Orlando Magic for Mickey Mouse and twelve more second-round draft choices and lifetime pass to the Theme Park.

Or was that just a rumor?...
Orlando demanded Jerry throw in Ribbie & Rhubard too

I REALLY thought the Bulls would keep Ayo, seeing as he was a better fit playing alongside Josh Giddey than Coby White was, and they had already traded Coby. I figured with the flurry of trades the Bulls were doing the past couple days, but(until this morning) keeping Giddey and Ayo, they were signaling that they were looking to build around those two and I was feeling a little bit of hope for the future. Like maybe they FINALLY tired of being the epitome of mediocrity.

But then they went and Bulls'ed things up and traded Ayo for a nothing burger...I should've known better than to have ANY faith in this joke of a front office. It won't get any better any time soon, either. Reinsdorf, being the piece of 💩 clown he is, has made it clear that once he passes, the family is to sell the White Sox(which IDC about, seeing as I'm a Cubs fan), but keep the Bulls. And that family will just stay out-of-touch and keep out-of-touch clowns in the front office. Hard to believe this is the same team I was in love with as a kid while watching them dominate everybody in the '90s. Ugh...

Well at least he understands they are currency. Was only have sure he didn’t think the the Bulls had to make all those picks themselves.

The guys who have screwed things up personnel wise, were allowed to decide how to tear things down, who to trade, and what to trade for. They have already proven that they are not good at it, but they have been allowed to do the do-over. That is a bad mistake.

Tearing it down to the studs should have started with a new architect.

Why in the world do pople keep filling the UC? With the exception of a couple of years after an ncredibly fortunate (or fixed) draft of Derrick Rose, the Bull shave been a joke since 1998.

Say the Bulls didn't luck into what MJ became, would this be a bottom 10 franchise across all 4 major sports? Without the MJ run, this franchise is the Kings or Clippers. Honestly, they got super lucky with Rose. I'm sad about it. I fit in nicely up in Chicagoland, because nobody pays more for mediocrity than Chicago sports fans.

The person I really feel sorry for right now is Billy Donovan. At the end of all of this he is the one who will be fired while the NBAs most incompetent GM stumbles along.
yea, but no one needs to set up a GoFundMe for him when it happens

Here in recent years, having a player with a local connection helped. While they don't have Ayo anymore, they still have Matas Buzelis they can use to draw people in with.

2026 is a good draft year...might be a few gems available in the 2nd rd...
However, we still don't know if any of those srps are for 2026. But as far as the Ayo trade; it's all part of AK's genius plan to have Ayo gain some meaningful playoff experience under a competent coach, and then sign him to a team friendly deal this summer.

The guy gets paid millions and just said he’s all in he could care less as long as he keep getting paid

Least favorable of Golden State or Denver's 2nd in 2026...also Boston 2nd rder but not from Ayo trade...
