wasn't sure what point you were making above, but it looks like, yes, players that shoot a lot of 3s will continue to shoot alot of threes. but 3pt fg% has terrible correlation (along with +/- which also says something about summer league).

for the record, this isnt directed towards C Wilson, i think he'll be really good and above average 3pt shooter (somewhere between 9 and 47%, I'd guess).

Not having read the original source article, I’d wonder how accurate that is across individual segments of first year players in summer league. Guards versus centers it would seem like there could be quite a variance. Also, 250 minutes isn’t a lot. Is it the same breakout for guys playing 5 mpg over 50 games as it is for 25 mpg guys playing 70+ games? So to overlay one specific player over those stats/trends may not be very accurate at all.

All that said, I think there is little doubt he’ll shoot more 3s with Bulls than he did with NC. But that rate has already come down. Half his shots were from 3 in first two games and that percentage has dropped to 40% over last two games. I could certainly see it falling further once the games start to count and he’s playing with a full NBA squad against all NBA players.

On a different subject, I’ve found Wilson’s +/- to be interesting I’m not a big proponent of the stat over one or a few games and it is summer league, but he hasn’t had a plus rating in any game. The closest he’s been is -1 and that was in a game the Bulls won by 12. In total the Bulls are -29 over four games. Caleb is -52 over those games. Also, not as concerned with him being a big and it being summer league, but an assist to turnover ratio of 7:21 isn’t exactly ideal.

I like Wilson a lot, think he’ll be good and he has the tools to be very good+, but not ready to go beyond that until we actually see him in NBA games. Definitely raises my interest in watching the Bulls this season though.
