Who is they? I don’t think he’ll get a 15 year contract (he’s not Soto) and even if he did, I think it still would be under $500M. I think we’re talking about 9 years in $250M to $280M. More likely the Cubs will look to sign his to a 4 to 6 year extension that would give him more money this year than he’d get in arbitration and allow give him time for another big contract in his career. I certainly could be wrong, but I just don’t see him getting a 15 year contract.
