lolSeiya 3-run HR for the lead. Not as clutch as it could have been, though, they were only tied, not trailing. Guy really needs to step it up.

11 years; $700M for all threeJust heard on WSCR at 4:26 PM Sunday that Suzuki leads MLB with 49 RBIs. Tied for second is PCA with 48. Tucker has to be close behind.
Edit, Tucker has 37.
I’d do it.11 years; $700M for all three
Middle of JuneBen “4 inning” Brown can’t go to the bullpen soon enough. When does Iminaga get back?

Need a minimum of 2 out of 3 against the Rockies.
Not sure if Flexen is an answer — his recent career stats say he probably isn’t — but at this point might as well try. Disagree about adding a rental SP though. A guy with multiple years left on contract will likely cost more in prospects than a rental. Unless trade partner is willing to taken on part of a rental’s salary, we’re probably talking about a mid-tier prospect or two who are not close to making major debut. You also don’t want to waste having Tucker this year or the season PCA is having. I’d also think the Cubs going for it by bringing in a SP could only help if they really plan to re-sign Tucker. How likely is a stud free agent to re-up with a team that isn’t willing to add to ensure making playoffs and actually making some noise when they get there? Regardless, Cubs need to add pitching or run the risk of wasting a big offensive year. It’s time to move Flexen into the rotation until Imanaga comes back and move Brown to the pen. I said that he was not a starting pitcher but CC experimented and now we know. I believe his best place will be a late game guy. Having Brown, Keller, Palencia, Hodge (once he returns), Pomeranz, Brasier, Theilbar and Pressly will shut down teams the farther we get into the season. I will say right now, unless injury, that we stand pat in July. No need to deal for a rental but if a guy becomes available with years left we might listen.
He is just filling in until Imanaga comes back. Yes, I understand that trading for a guy with years left is going to cost more and I am not in favor of making a trade just to make a trade. It has to be the right situation and trading just for a rental is not smart at this point as we really don’t have a glaring weakness at the moment. We have 8 solid relief pitchers right now not counting Flexen. Our rotation is doing well but lets evaluate once both Assad and Imanaga comes back. If Horton continues to improve ands the way Taillon is pitching, adding Imanaga back will give us three solid starters with Rea, Boyd and Assad fighting for two spots. If we need a bat later this season, Ballestros will be a nice option. No one who has started more than 1 game in May for Cubs has an ERA under 4.30 for the month. Horton’s high for innings pitched is 88.1 (2023). He’s already at 43.1. How many innings do you think Cubs will let their best pitching prospect throw this year keeping in mind he only threw 34.1 last year.He is just filling in until Imanaga comes back. Agree 100%. Go to the park!I have always found the park to be way more fun
imo, the rooftops are for huge groups , not for two or four

My one experience with the rooftops was watching from the right field side for a night game. Partly because of the sun going down, but you couldn’t see the ball. It was like watching a pantomime of a baseball game. Players swinging a bat, fielders running to a spot, making a throwing motion. It was ok for most of the folks at the party as they were there to socialize, didn’t appear to care too much about watching the game. Daytime, not looking into the sun, with people who were actually there to watch the game might be a better experience. Personally, I’d prefer being inside the park. What a fun year it has been. Keep it up.
I was looking for things to do for my wife's birthday coming up and had never sat on rooftops. Do you have any suggestions there? Is it worth the money, a good, fun experience, or better just going to the ballpark? Any advice/tips are appreciated. Go Cubs.
Good place to watch a game when the Cubs are 20 games out of first in September. Other than that, a hard pass. Much rather watch it on TV with other die hards. What a fun year it has been. Keep it up.
